The dumbest thing you ever did to your stereo?
I don't really know where to start. Back before I knew anything about stereos, I had an old Mitsubishi system with BALLS of power. Well, I know it got freaking loud, and in HS, that's all that mattered right? Well, I got a second set of speakers a...
need help programming b&k remote for the avr 507 r
Download BK Suite and that will give you all the updated codes to set up the remote, and also all the update stuff in order to program the actual reciever (if your on the S2, maybe S1, I'm not sure). It's a pretty straight-forward interface. Oh ye...
Arcam vs. B&K
Oh yea, one other thing I didn't think of. You can use a spectrum analyzer to get your room's response. But these machines run about $1200 I think. If you have a friend with one, it would greatly cut down on your time. Being a college student with...
Arcam vs. B&K
A couple of the big differences between the S1 and the S2 is that the S2 has 3 notch filters (for setting up room calibration) where the S1 only has 1. Also, the S1 did not do a very good job of describing how to set up these filters. But pretty m...
Denon 4806 v. B&K AVR-507
I agree, I'm running a 507 S2 right now, and I could work around some lacking technology (i.e. HDMI) for the performance aspect. I know B&K does not churn out new versions of their products twice a year like some companies, but I'll take the s...
Has anyone heard of this?
Yes, there were definitely other ideas in the cards to make it profitable (renting new releases, selling food/drinks, etc). The only problem is, the more I add into the idea, the more "issues" I have to address. Renting out for parties and such wa...
Has anyone heard of this?
That was kid of what I was worried about, but the project was to come up with a novel idea, and this seemed feasible. I'll have to do the math to see how far out this project seems. Thanks for all your input
Has anyone heard of this?
Thanks guys, there's definitely more work I need to put into this, but I appreciate the feedback
need DVD recorder help
look for a combo DVD-VHS recorder that has one touch dubbing from DVD to VHS or VHS to DVD. I know there is one made by JVC that does it and it seems like this should be a common feature on most combo players. I've had some experience working on m...
Does LG still plan to release a combo player
Sorry to revive an old thread, but LG just announced a HD DVD and Blu Ray combo player today at CES that will be released sometime in the middle of February, which probably means, realistically, end of March, mid-April, etc. MSRP is starting at $1...
Anyone tried NAD's M25 amps
That sounds great, the place by me that sells them does not have a demo set up and running yet. Eventually, I'd like to get a hold of the new Paradigm reference stuff, or possibly jump up to the signature series later on or B&W 803D's and was ...
Martin Logan Problem
What it sounds like is you have a loose solder joint at the point where the electrostatics are connected. I don't know how you would go about taking the thing apart to fix this. you will probably have to get the electrostatic pannel re-soldered. s...
Paradigm Center, sub & rears for Denon AVR1706?
Definitely, we had the PW-2200 in our big demo theater at the last store I worked at. It was so loud the furniture store that we shared the wall with could here it when we turned it up. If you have the space for that beast, it's a great sub.
Yamaha YSP-1
We had the Yamaha rep in our store when this first came out and set it up for us on the fly, it sounded.....ok. I'd say it gave the effect of surround sound better than other one-speaker solutions (Polk soundbridge). Since it has more drivers that...
Paradigm Center, sub & rears for Denon AVR1706?
I would go with the CC-370 V3 and the ADP-370 V3 surrounds. The reason I say this is Paradigm does a good job of timber matching it's speakers from series to series. I haven't played with the v2's as much. They were discontinued by the time I star...
