Agreed @tomcy6 and +1!I don't believe MC is a shill either and I think his motivations are driven more by a combination of ideology, insecurity, and pure recreational enjoyment of trying to be viewed as "the smartest guy in the room" often by bull...
Listening Skills Part Duex: What are you listening for?
I remember many years ago I was determined to learn Travis picking on my guitar having been a flat picker exclusively for decades....Travis picking is essentially alternating bass with your thumb while playing a melody overtop.  Problem was I coul...
Listening Skills Part Duex: What are you listening for?
@hilde45 I guess my point is that there isn’t just one road to musical enjoyment and not everyone has the interest and even physical capability of improving their listening skills to the point of discerning minute details - and that we shouldn’t v...
Mola Mola Tambaqui
Congrats @hollowman! I've only read stellar review of this DAC.  It's always fun seeing a newer product start to make waves uniformly across the market, among with pro and amateur reviewers alike.
Listening Skills Part Duex: What are you listening for?
I’m relieved that it’s never been so hard for me to enjoy music regardless of the gear, my age, experience or listening "goals". Listening to music should simply be a joy...not something you have to train for. The ability for someone to hear somet...

Can someone please explain why an entire thread was deleted instead of just the offending post(s)?Am I allowed to ask this question? I think you're allowed to ask any reasonable question until a manufacturer threatens legal action.  The mods wa...
So where should the tubes be?
@tomic601    Three Easy….he doesn’t know a FET is solid state Even his beloved Herron phono stage has a FET-based MC gain stage.  It's a great phono no doubt but probably the least tubey one I've ever heard.  Amazingly the Herron still sounds li...
Tube testers
@charles1dad   This was the feedback I was hoping to get from others and was wondering if others had the same experiences as @russ69  with sudden tube failures even when they tested well.  Much appreciated.
So where should the tubes be?
So there you go. Use tubes wherever you want music. some of your audio idols like Fremer and Lavigne love their SS amps and believe they actually produce music.  Why so polarizing and disenfranchising of so many people at every opportunity? (rh...
How long does Class A have?
Totally agree about Pass gear...and amazingly sound like "music" despite not containing a single tube.
Tube testers
Used tube testing is a crap shoot. An old tube can measure perfect and be at the end of it’s life the next day. Is this true?  I always operated under the assumption that tubes rarely die quickly and instead, they just slowly get duller and dul...
Apple Music hi Rez sound quality? My take.
I do wish the Lumin app would accommodate more than just Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and TuneIn internet radio.  I use Qobuz and am very happy with it but some other options would be nice.  Anyone know if those are planned by Lumin?
How important is it to have identical speaker cable length?
It's only important if you want to sell the pair.  You will definitely fetch less money for a speaker cable pair that's not the same length.

"Non-self serving"! He fell for it! They all fell for it! Well done, sir! apparently there are no limits to who MC will throw under the bus.

No matter how many times knowledgeable members warn of the folly of substituting drivers in speakers, there is always someone who tries it anyway. A possible solution - don't buy a speaker where you feel like you need to swap out drivers, cross...
