The History Behind Viva Linea?
Jond - I want to echo audiofun here. I never intended that you were not being helpful. I think you were trying to be very helpful. It just didn’t answer my question.
The History Behind Viva Linea?
Thanks @jond yes I have done my research on this thread and have seen the one you mention. I’m not expecting much service from them, especially considering I’m buying a used non-current unit. I have access to incredible techs and would never send ...
A New Ground -- Benefits of introducing the Synergistic Research Active Ground Block SE
So I just got an Active Ground Block SE a week ago, and I’m experimenting with power cables. I did notice a sound change after I grounded all of my components and possible cables, but I felt that I couldn’t get the right sound with the atmosphere ...
End game speakers for Yamaha as2100 under 5k new or used
I also guarantee that they will outperform the vintage speakers that you listed and won’t need repair anytime soon.
End game speakers for Yamaha as2100 under 5k new or used
@gravis82 - if you can pick the Alta Audio Lelantos or get them shipped free, and they are in absolutely perfect condition, they are listed at a decent deal. I’ve had them for almost a year, and they replaced a set of Tekton. There wasn’t even any...
Weak link?
Harry, looking into your speaker cables and interconnects, I think you deserve an upgrade there considering the quality of your components. You will probably get a bigger bang for your buck than with upgrading power. I started with the AQ Evergree...
Weak link?
Yes, that’s what I mean. I ended up getting a PS Audio PowerPlant P3, upgrading all of my power cables, upgraded all my fuses in my components, and even replaced the wall wart with a cryo treated hospital grade one. All that, and I once thought it...
Weak link?
Your post begs the question - "Why do you think your sound is lacking?" What is it about the sound signature that needs improvement? You've got great components, so I would focus on these in the following order:1. Room treatments (panels, position...
How to make low end digital sound "not terrible" on higher end systems?
Are you hooking up the iphone to your Chord DAC? If not, that should help a ton. Otherwise, are you playing back lossless files from your iPhone (assuming not since Spotify is lossy)? On higher-end sound systems, I found that I simply cannot toler...
My next Coax / SPDIF after Green Hornet
@wig thanks for the recommendation. I have read good things about the Black Cat cable as well, and in other places, there have been folks who have tried it and have preferred the AZ line of cables. I think it will all depend on system matching. If...
My next Coax / SPDIF after Green Hornet
Well, I came across a decent deal for a 1.5M run of Acoustic Zen MC2 for $314, so I am waiting for that to ship and will report back on the tests. The best part of it is that it is returnable, so not a big loss on me if it doesn’t work out.
My next Coax / SPDIF after Green Hornet
Thanks for the advice guys. @jond  - does the Jorma still have the bass extension and warmth that the Green Hornet did? The way you describe it, sounds a lot like my Tara Labs, but the Tara is just lean below 100hz. @uberwaltz - I’ll look into the...
Luxman SQ-N100 amp with built-in MM phono stage
Congrats on the amp! I owned the Luxman SQ-N10 (American distributed version of the SQ-N100) for a few years until I sold it last May. It's a fantastic little beast and was my first step into 'real' audiophilia. I suggest that you swap out the tub...
Oppo 105, Oppo 205, or Legacy SACD (Esoteric, Cary CD 306, etc)
@jafant I ended up going with a used Yamaha CD-S2000 on which I negotiated an attractive price. It’s my first foray into SACD and my first serious CD player (have been more into hi-res digital files and vinyl). From reviews it seems to have a soli...
Oppo 105, Oppo 205, or Legacy SACD (Esoteric, Cary CD 306, etc)
@jafant Thanks, looks amazing especially as I love Cary's products, but unfortunately it does not play SACDs.
