Help optimizing my streaming setup
Unfortunately, Galvanic isolation does not remove noise in an Ethernet signal and is mainly implemented for reasons of electrical safety.
Router for Audio Streaming
@yoramguy1 apologies I missed that and I thought you were looking to explore how  you could improve SQ. if you’re streaming via Wi-Fi any, even basic routers will be fine. :)
Router for Audio Streaming
@yoramguy1 it'll be interesting to hear how you get on but i'm still a bit puzzled why you're focusing so much attention on the Router as a solution. Will your router still be connected to lots of other devices on the network? or are you planning ...
Router for Audio Streaming
I wouldnt worry too much about the router as its being fed noise from all over your network. I would concentrate on isolating your streamer/hifi from the network, first with a dedicated switch ideally with an uprated quiet PSU. This will act as bu...
Is optical mostly a waste of time versus Ethernet?
Fundamental problem with optical is you can’t turn light pulses into music, atleast not yet. It to has at some point be converted back into an electronic/ Ethernet signal whether it be with converters outside the streamer or like lumin or other de...
Ethernet - Analog/Digital Signal Clean Up
A couple of review of the Network Acoustics MUON streaming system on here and in the EAR https://www.the-ear.net/review-hardware/network-acoustics-muon-streaming-system-streaming-filter-ethernet-cable https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/str...
Holo may lte vs denafrips terminator 2 vs musetec da005
My two penneth…I currently have both 005 and May. The May just edges it in most areas by a small margin, with the exception of layer separation, stage width and depth where the May is significantly better.
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
Trust me no one was more skeptical about the 005 than I was, but listening to it b2b with the MM, it’s objectively superior. I’m lucky enough to have the may and 005 on my rack at the moment, with a view to keeping one of them, so far the may has ...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
I stumped up for a mola mola before I heard the musetec, preferring the Tambaqui to anything else I’d heard. My business partner bought a musetec to try, so we set up the comparison. It didn’t take more than 2 or 3 tracks to hear the musetec outpe...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
Chime in as suspicion grows ;-) I had bought what I thought was my keeper DAC, the mola mola tambaqui. Space, detail and tonal clarity like I’d not heard before. Then my business partner mentioned someone on here had mentioned the musetec out per...
Fedex Customs problem
We send a lot of shipments to US from UK and FedEx are by far the most reliable and quickest service we’ve used. We also deal with returns and as long as you mark it for return or repair, with country of origin UK, then you should not pay any impo...
Ethernet 7
Better still stick a network switch in the middle rather than run a cable directly from router to streamer. The switch (ideally with quite power supply) will act as a buffer between router and streamer, blocking some of the noise from the router. ...
Funny how streaming/digital still chases that analog benchmark.
I’m sorry but really??? Another nonsense thread about digital vs analogue.. “don’t get me wrong some of my best friends are digital, but it’s just not natural, not what god intended, etc etc repeat, repeat... anyone who doesn’t see it my way is a ...
BS Node 2i: WiFi or Ethernet..?
If it’s not hard for you to run a cable, why don’t you just try it. If you prefer the results wired keep it, if you don’t, go back to wi-fi. Avoid repeaters if you can, add a network switch in between the router and node. Hardwired is more resista...
If you stream music from the internet, I can't recommend this more highly
...And even with an optical converter, you have to convert the signal back at to ethernet so you can plug it into your streamer, at least with 99% of streaming devices, so the signal is liable to pick up electronic interference at this point and i...
