Pre-pro with upsampling I believe the Meridian 861?? does it- huge $$ though!!
Have ARC LS-16 Pre- what to upgrade to?? No_Money- It does- just considering a higher quality preamp. Rosstaman- thanks- good idea, in fact one of my good friends has the Ref 1 and loves it, but I like the even bigger soundstage/warmth of Ref 2 (since uses tube power supply as opposed to...

Have ARC LS-16 Pre- what to upgrade to?? Hey George- how are ya? Thanks for the response (the ONLY one at this point, I might add!!). Agreed- lots of fab tube pre's m out there, but w processor bypass AND remote? Am I asking too much??!! Looks like I might be stickin' with Audio Research...
Power cord upgrade for Rowland 8T agree with George. I use the Top Gun (must be a base model, since I got it for $350 used) for my amp, but Shunyata on front end.
pre-amp for A.R. VT100 MK III Used ARC Ref 1- saw one for, like, $3,500 used- couldn't believe it!!
25,000 for the home theater $25k U.S.?? Lots of choices! High-end HT, try Rowland amplification; new Sim Audio 'Attraction' processor- excellent sound; and 4 Verity Audio Parsifal Encores plus a fifth monitor of the same for center; or; option #2 for speakers- Aerial 7b's or...
Which preamp for Rowland 9Ti? Audio Research LS-16 tube preamp. I use it, and tubes should add musicality (it did for me when I compared against SS Rowland pre- 'your results may vary' as they say). Also, the LS-16 has processor bypass, and can probably be had used around $2.5...
Bi-amp with multi-channel amps in H/T Good question by the way- and a whasssuupp to Avguygeorge for always having interesting posts- Along with Albert Porter and others- you're an asset to this board! (great choice on the Aerials for HT- I have heard them- very nice)OK- I happen to do...
New BMI Whale Elite Power Cord Thanks guys- appreciate the responses. Hey Bruce- great to hear from you! Long time no speak. Glad ot hear the FIM is working out well. Haven't been able to audition it- as I may have told you, up here in Canada, we don't have such luxuries, and o...
New BMI Whale Elite Power Cord Thanks for the response. I have read some great reviews on SOME of these cords- but wouldn't it be great to find a review where they where ALL the big boys were included- i.e. Shunyata KC; FIM Gold; Fat Boy Electraglide; NBS; BMI Whale, etc. Oh we...
Shakti Stone? David- don't let Leaf's skepticism affect you (nothin' personal Leafs- by the way, are you in Toronto? just a hunch!!). I would pay most attention to the posts from those who actually HAVE tried the Stones (or own them, like myself). Again, I agre...
Shakti Stone? I use 3 stones- one of them on top of DAC area of CD player- noticable results- slightly smoother, hair less grain, etc. (guess its reducing digital 'hash' etc.). Second stone is on top of DCS Purcell upsampler, and third is on top of A/V processo...
Totem Beaks I use the beaks. In my opinion, they do work. The differences I noticed when auditioning them were mainly in the superior high frequency extension- i.e. cymbals 'shimmering' a bit better, a hair better resolution, etc. They will not 'bowl you over... |
