Upgrade from Rega P5
Have you ever thought of upgrading the arm? For under a grand you could try the Audiomods Rega. Drops right in now you have VTA adjustment and is a big step up from the stock Rega arm on the P5. Not to mention you still have the Rega arm to sell o...
Tube recommendation for Audio Research LS-2b?
I have a ARC LS22 that I use sometime and use to use the LS2B. If you want a nice improvement and not spend big, try these. They work very nicely in the ARC gear.http://www.tubemonger.com/Matsushita_Japan_6922_E88CC_Mullard_Tooling_NOS_p/591.htmTh...
Affordable electronics to suit Thiel 3.5 speakers
In your room I think you could get away with a good tube amp. Something around 60 watts or higher. Maybe look for a used Rouge amp or a used CJ. I have heard the 3.5's and the 3.6 driven with Audio Research mono 150's and they sounded wonderful. I...

Turntable/arm/cartridge VALUE combination for 600
If you are not opposed to used, your money will go a lot further. Used VPI, Rega, and others can be had for what you are willing to spend. There are a few in the adds right now.Sturgus
Is there a good, affordable, phono cable option?
While not cheap this one would save you about thirty dollars.http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIGH-QUALITY-CANARE-TONEARM-CABLE-LINN-SME-1-2M-/220900045251?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336eab31c3Sturgus

Tonearm Choice:SME or Rega?

Who stay with Merlin longest time
I bought mine back 1997 and had them upgraded in 1999 to the Basic W/BAM. I still use them everyday and love them. They have yet to become the weak link in my system.
Recomendations Please
I would try a pair of Amprex 7308's in the preamp. The BB are very nice but they lack the bass or should I say mid bass that you will get from the Amprex.
AUdio research LS7 Tube replacement
These should work well. I use them in my ARC LS-22, they sound much better than the Sovteks and the JAN Phillips I have tried. Not bad for the cost.Sturgushttp://www.tubemonger.com/Matsushita_Japan_6922_E88CC_Mullard_Tooling_NOS_p/591.htm
tonearm for benz micro L2?
I have the Audiomods Rega and I love it. I am waiting for my Koetsu Rosewood to come back from Soundsmith. I am using a Shure V15V in it now and it sounds wonderful. It really out classes my AQ-PT9I Which is not a bad arm. Jeff will customize the ...

Replace or Repair Adcom GFA-565's
If you intend on keeping them stock I might go Rotel. If you mod them they will be in another class. I think you will have a very fine pair of amps.Sturgus
