I tend to think you should aim higher. A very reasonable and wonderful table are those made by Rega. As good as the table is, the included arm is even better than the table. If you do get Rega, get back to me and I'll tell you those little secrets...

I have a benz ebony high output and love it. Remember the higher the output, the less the head amp has to do. I hear no hum or noise and absolutely wonderful 3 dimensional effortless sound.

I've been doing this for more years than I want to admit. I've always had to lower the back end slightly. I now use a Benz Ebony - lower the back of the tonearm (weight side) down slightly.
