Want to upgrade my cartridge from 2m blue to black
Hi Peter! Thanks for reminding us about pulling the plugs off those pins on the 2M series. I totally ruined a Red when I tugged on a plug to remove it and the back of the cartridge pulled out with it, and then  (the horror!) I saw those super fine...
Why don't we make a list of best pressings ?
@tzh: +1! In fact many of Bruce’s pressings on True North sound amazing. Stealing Fire is another.
Who are some of elite sub woofers?
I’m gonna plug SVS simply because I own two SB-2000s (sealed version, 12 inch driver, 500 watts RMS, continuously adjustable for volume, phase and low pass filter) run in stereo. Not only do they sound wonderful, but they are well built, low profi...
Top Ten "Reasons I Don't Like This Component"
@pops: I totally agree on legacy Thiels. I had a pair of CS6s that I sold recently, keeping the 2.4s. Those bottom mounted binding posts were not only a PITA to get to while precariously tilting the cabinet if no one was around to assist, but, unl...

You are not getting the most out of your Blue. Upgrade the table/arm.
Vinyl vs high def audio i.e. 24bit / 96 or 192khz
It's all good! Get yourself a turntable set up and enjoy!
Replacement tubes for C-J
I wouldn’t go near Upscale, they upcharge exorbitantly. Go to tubedepot or tubestore for this. For your amp, for example:Tubedepot EH EL34 $14.98Upscale EH EL34 $19.95
Ever tossed a record aside as poorly engineered and produced only to think otherwise later
Man, you gives 'em an inch, they takes a mile.
Best return for the money, system upgrade suggestions please.
Pay down your debt! That's the number one thing you should always do with extra money. Later, you can spend on toys. Enjoy the system you have now.
Tube or solid state
I like and own both tubed and solid state phono preamps. They have their own sonic signatures and it’s fun to stay with one for awhile and then shift my music listening focus so that I switch over to the other version. Neither design has a corner ...
What responsibility does a seller have to tell a customer an item has been serviced?
The reason I asked that question was because I home demoed a CJ 17LS preamp years ago from a dealer and, after one day, I realized I could not live with the banging and clanging from a high end preamp. It just didn't make sense, no matter how good...
What responsibility does a seller have to tell a customer an item has been serviced?
There is one silver lining, and it sounds like, given the trade for the unwanted preamp, perhaps you finally found what you were looking for. No longer wanting a component you bought means that the quest continues, and eventually you WILL find the...
What responsibility does a seller have to tell a customer an item has been serviced?
In business we try to practice due diligence when faced with acquisition or divestment, not always easy, and other than face value and customer referrals/feedback, for a private company or dealership there’s not much else you can do. My hunch is t...
No one actually knows how to lculate what speaker cable they need
How is it that someone like the OP can dangle so much nothing and get so much attention? There is no relevance to what the OP has to offer other than the illusion of some secret sauce. It doesn't exist. The DF of an amp does not define anything, no...
