What's going on with Synergistic Research fuses?
@adam8179While I don’t have the answer to any of your questions, I can tell you that in my Nuprime amplifier, the Synergistic Orange fuse was nothing short of unbelievable. This is the best tweak I have ever tried and I have absolutely no regret. ...
High Performance Audio - The End?
@Motownhang in there, we all will be joining you soon. 😀
Evolving from a avr to an av processor. Benefit?
The best AVP known to man at this time is from a French company named Trinnov. The Altitude 19 or Altitude 32 has no competition. Starts at 9k. Take your pick.
High Performance Audio - The End?
Could it be possible that the future of high end audio be totally different in a decade or so? Maybe some day soon, nobody will be spinning discs anymore . All of your music will be either in the cloud or on some hard drive. Your cell phone will h...
Game Changing Tweak
@bartholomewGood for you!  You spent your money buying the item, you took the time to let us know your impressions of it, now someone is asking you to recruit your wife to test it 50 times no less and report back to him ASAP.  You seem like I to s...
Game Changing Tweak
@pragmasi Your scenario doesn’t account for the fact that the distributors always have a money back guarantee and always give sufficient time to evaluate a product and return it if not satisfied. If we had to be persuaded of the theory before we b...
Game Changing Tweak
Like everything else, only the ones who have tried it should have a say on whether it works or not. You can always try it and return it if it doesn't work for you.  No need to play the scientist or the prophet. Don't let the marketing scare you.  ...
Does high end system with dedicated circuits need grounding products
I have the SR active ground block with the better ground wires and orange fuse.  I also have the 12-outlet power conditioner UEF-SE and a black outlet. I have a dedicated 8 GA wire line. Like Tom said, your mileage may vary. In terms of improvemen...
Streaming: WiFi or wired??
Most equipment manufacturers will advise to use a wired connection if the device can do both and you have a choice between the two. Everything being equal, the best a wireless connection can do is be as good as the wired connection. It will not be...
Too good a post to waste
As it happens with most things, JH was only half right when he said if it measures the same, it should sound the same. We all know the story of Bob Carver making one of his amps sound like an ARC amp by measuring what he calls the “transfer functi...
Your One Bullet Point Solution; Electrical Upgrade
Doug, don’t forget a meter socket SPD. This is the first line of defense in terms of surge protection. Depending of where you live, you might have to ask the power company to install it for you and they will charge you a small monthly fee. It goes...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit - Electrician laughed!
Hi MitchI suspect that 10 AWG is very adequate for your distance.  My panel is much farther to my outlet (50+) and since I was going to start from scratch I figured why not do it by the book.  I probably would not change a thing if I had a 10 AWG...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit - Electrician laughed!
@mitch2 Please read the link that I provided and you will understand where 10 gauge might not be optimal. You might get away with it, heck! I got away with 14 AWG. And it wasn’t bad, just not optimal.
Dedicated 20 amp circuit - Electrician laughed!
Hi tvadi used an outlet that came with my PC 12 conditioner, they call it the black outlet. It accepts up to 10 gauge. The electrician used a reducer to go from 8 to 10 gauge. I then used a 2-gang box with a dummy outlet (not connected) to make su...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit - Electrician laughed!
Hi DtxI had a dedicated line with 14 AWG wire that I recently upgraded with a 8 AWG line and noticed very positive differences.  I followed the advice of Vince Galbo of MSB (see the article here: https://www.msbtechnology.com/faq/how-to-wire-your-...
