Any High-end speakers "kid-friendly" not fragile?
Well, if you don't let them have squirt-gun fights in the room, then most Martin Logans should be pretty safe.
Benchmark DAC1 configuration
Lots of options for output from a Benchmark DAC. It has both RCA and XLR outputs. And you can set the output to be a fixed level, like any regular CD player or any any other component. Or it can give you a variable output that goes through the fro...
No output on New LS26
Glad to hear that all ended well. I'd be happy to entomb the dead unit in my basement. Of couse, I might take it over to Audio Research for last rites beforehand. :)
No output on New LS26
Upon re-reaading your post, I see you got sound from "record out", so I'm skeptical that my idea is the problem.
No output on New LS26
I should add a little more info. The previous generations of ARC preamps (one of which I have) have a switch to select BAL or SE for any input. The new interface on the LS 26 maybe has a default value for that choice? If the default choice is BAL ...

Do you need to tell it if you are using BAL or SE inputs?
Rega Planet Original
Have you tried cleaning the laser? I had a Planet for many years. I cleaned it with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol every few years. Maybe I was lucky, but that cleared up any read problems for me.

sony kds 50e2000....

HDMI Terms and Troubles...
"My problem is this...my Sony has 3 HDMI inputs and NONE of them will allow me to get the audio from that signal and go to the surrounds"What model "Sony" are you referring to in this statement? TV? Or receiver?
Help with buzz / hum that's making me insane r
Try disconnecting all TV inputs and outputs - cable, satellite, antenna, HDMI, coax, eveything. If that eliminates the hum, starting reconnecting one at a time until the hum comes back.
What might cause LOUD hum in a Conrad Johnson pv6
Another possibility -The original hum may have been from a loose RCA cable to the amp. If the center pin was making contact, but the outer outer ring was not, that would cause a (very) loud hum. Are you sure all cables are firmly reconnected? Coul...
Pictures, More Pictures
I would also point out that when you upload pictures to Audiogon they do get compressed, so a certain amount of detail is lost. So for me that is another reason I'd sometimes like to see additional photos if I'm buying. And since transmitting "bit...
