Heads Up: ARC is introducing the new SP-20 in Fall
AND.......ARC's gears are designed and assembled in the USA unlike some others that are designed in the USA, Canada, France, England and assembled in China. SO.... we could all petitioned ARC to keep R&D in the USA and have their gear assemble...
Any Audirvana Plus enthusiasts out there?
Got it myself the other day. Using Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 feeding a Wavelength Wavelink HS converter and into a modded ARC DAC7. My only issue is the constant ticking sound it does. This is very annoying and would rather listen to vi...
ARC LS15: did they ever use Mundorf MCaps on it ?
Johnsonwu.....Amen with last post. To the OP, If it has a GNSC badge on it no worries. Steve Huntley's (and his team) workmanship was without fault. He used premium parts as well IE; Vcaps, Vishay, Caddock, and others. I had many units modded by h...
Replacing my Martin Logan SL3 speakers.
Had the Sequel II from 1989 to 2005 when i decided to change to a different sonic flavour and got myself a pair of Verity Parsifal and never looked back. The ML gave me years of musical enjoyment though but the panels and power supplies needed rep...
bias Classic 60, Audio Research
Very informative Hifigeek as usual. I have a pair of CL120's (modded by Steve Huntley in 2005) with balanced inputs. In addition to what was discussed thus far in this thread, the best place to start is to obtain tubes from ARC. That way you will ...
The Audio Research Reference 10 is here $30k
Where is Steve Huntley (GNSC) when we need him.For those who have had their ARC amps and preamps modded by him, there is no desire to get into the ongoing, never ending, new models upgrade journey. The last piece of gear he's done for me was a REF3...
WaveLink HS 24/192 vs Bel Canto 24/96 USB to SPDIF
Let me ask you this. If on a budget, would it not be best to use mini Toslink from MacPro into an Empirical Synchro Mesh and from it into the RCA/BNC input of the DAC? This platform can do 24/192khz. Like the OP, i have the Bel Canto USB 24/96 Lin...
Verity Audio speakers
Greetings from Canada; I concur with both jmcgrogan and syntax assessment. I currently have the Parsifal Encore (since 2005) paired with ARC Classic 120's (GNSC modded) and they sound fabulous. I have recently moved into a new home with a much lar...
Audio Research Ref 250s for Magnepan 20.1s?
Djcxxx...."these threads are mostly a listing of brands that others think are a better choice than what you actually inquired about".AMEN!!!
heard Melody Gardot?
You guys will be in for a real treat. I saw her in Montreal last July as part of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. A memorable performance. The show was sold out in 20 minutes. She played many songs from the Absence album. I would see her ...
Where to get GNSC mod CD player repaired
I would send it to Wadia. I don't see why they would not replace the transport if this is what is defective. I would call Wadia.Good luck.
What a better pre-amp Arc Ls-27 or Ref-3
Very few indeed and half of those were sold in North America. The other half were made for the European and Asian markets. Words on the street say that the last 20 REF3's ever made were "badged" LE.
What a better pre-amp Arc Ls-27 or Ref-3
I have a rare REF3 LE that i had it through Steve Huntley when purchased new. The power supply was beefed up with another bank of premium caps (BG's) mounted on an acrylic board. Somewhat similar to what ARC is offering now with their SE upgrades....
Mapleshade Steamer Kit.....anyone?
We need to steam clean our vinyls like we need a bullet in the head. Indeed, steam is good enough to steam your pants and that's about it.My vinyl steaming process lasted 30 minutes and i threw the steamer to the curb in front of the house. I must...
General comments on SOTA
I have been a Sota owners for 25 years (Star, Nova, Cosmos IV) and would never own anything else except, perhaps, a Basis. Why a Basis? Vacuum hold down.Once you have experienced vacuum hold down with warped/dished record you will never go back to...
