Is it possible for a high end manufacturer to overprice their goods?
I would look at this from the other direction. Will consumers over pay for what they perceive to be top quality? This hobby is notorious for consumers who think quality comes with a high price tag. IMO as the price goes up so does diminishing retu...
Songs with excellent advice?
Kill em all—Metallica. Don't you love her as she’s walking out the door—Doors
What is the proper loudness for listening?
I have always asked the question if one can measure dynamics by a decibel number. There is a certain point in volume that makes the music come alive. You can hear the instrument separation, you can feel the kick drum punch you in the chest, and yo...

@soix I too find it a little strange that an “engineer” who will argue up and down that it all one’s and zero’s is saying a more costly dac is better because it has double the ladders “to correct the errors”. Also to compare the A to the R also ...
Is a home theater even worth it or doable?
85” tv screen do not consider anything but Sony.

Without offense to anyone reading this imo that would not be very logical. That would be taking a step back from where the R26 is today. What is a consumers biggest fear when making a substantial purchase! That after you click buy, by the time you...

@soix Gustard engineers have said they put a lot more into the lan port than the usb and coax inputs. From many owners who have done comparisons it seems with good mods to the upstream signal going into the lan you can achieve better sound than ...
Making speakers “disappear”…..
Since you are playing around with set up and have endless option make sure you try the off axes corner set up. Almost every room at the audio shows us this method. It contributes to the soundstage and adds a 3d sound.
Adding a Dac and Stresmer
@silverfoxvtx1800  Reading through the reply I noticed one from you that stood out and will have a huge impact in your choice. “Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, I spend about 8 hrs a day with my music so this is very important…”. You need to...
First Watt J2 & speaker pairing ?
IMO you should not get to caught up in the rating of 25 watts per channel. There is sooooooo much more involved in the ability of an amp to drive speakers. I will take a great 25 watt amp like this over a lot of 200 or 300 watts per amps where the...
Tidal class-action
Will be interesting to see what information comes out of discovery. Charging additional money for a service they could not delivery can only mean a couple things in todays charged world. Was it greed and the people in the company were padding thei...
The best part about MQA bankruptcy..
This all reminds me of the cell phone and IP services in the US. The US is close to last in the world for cell and internet bandwidth. But as companies in the US have done for ever they charge a premium for a service that is 10 years old in other ...

@kairosman  One thing that I think can get lost in the discussion is all in cost. I have made the comment myself that this dac will compete with others costing $5000 to $6000. Truth be told the R26 costs $1600 US and then to squeeze out the perfo...

@in_shore there are reviews that compare the A26 with the R26. It all comes down to which sound you like. If you like the delta sigma sound then the A26 is nice. If you like the r2r sound the the R26 is nice. Both offer great sound and option fo...

@balooo2  I did not intend to come across as being critical sorry you took it that way. Wireless will never give you the same sound quality as lan. Most people who will buy the R26 are chasing the best sound they can achieve with their system. I ...
