My Talk with Roger of XLO (power cords)
While i do own some XLO products, this appears to be nothing more than a blatant plug with more non-technical "mumbo jumbo". You can't "resonate" power cords for a specific frequency range like you can RF transmission lines. Sean >
Adcom, B&K, or Rotel?????????
B & K amps do not sound like tubes, regardless of what others tell you or you read. My Father has owned a B & K amp, I've owned several B & K's and my brother is currently doing a quad amped set-up consisting of a B & K ST-140 for ...
Magnan Signature ics - The Ultimate
I recently picked up a used set of the Magnan Signature IIIi's and they are phenomenal. Soundstage is AWESOME and they sound utterly musical. Sean >
"hey throat" from a live rock concert
If that happened to you, you were probably intoxicated ( one way or the other ) and enjoying yourself way too much : ) As to curing your "laryngitis", eat as much of a jar of horseradish that you can possibly stand. This will revive your vocal cor...
Advise:Goertz MI2 vs Analysis Oval 9
I did a post on the Asylum describing what a Zobel Network was. Go back into the Cable Asylum ( the original link will get you there ) and do a search for Zobel Network. I explained everything that you want to know there after someone asked the sa...
Advise:Goertz MI2 vs Analysis Oval 9
Try taking a look at this post and those that follow it in the thread. You might find it interesting. You'll have to cut cut and paste it since i don't know how to do a direct link here. Sean > http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/cables/messages/1...
Quicker warm up advice for pass labs amp
There is no REAL solution to warm up time other than having the unit turned on. David's suggestion of a timer may have some validity, but you better make sure that it is a unit rated for high current draw. Something designed for an air conditioner...

Hey Trelja, could you drop me an email. I'd like to compare some notes with you. Sean >
Analysis Plus Speaker cables
Thanks for posting that Fpeel. I would rather be corrected than continue to be incorrect. I apologize for the misinformation that i posted about the various cables and their geometries. I tried to call AP today and ended up getting a recording. Wh...
Difference between Cables
I have run many "analogue" interconnects between my transport and DAC. It will work fine. Quite honestly, some of the analogue cables sounded much better than the "highly touted" digital ones. The big difference is that digital cables are supposed...
Analysis Plus Speaker cables
Thanks for pointing that out Fpeel. The initial literature that i had seen on these when the Oval 9 and 12's came out had pictured flat oval coaxial cables. This was BEFORE the Silver cables were even introduced. To further reinforce that, EVERY p...
Analysis Plus Speaker cables
The Oval 9's and Oval 12's originally started as coaxial designs. One conductor was inside the other. This would mean that the outer conductor would have to be a heavier gauge wire than the inner conductor. The first ones to go to the stacked desi...
Analysis Plus Speaker cables
Sam, i don't have a "vendetta" against AP in specific. It's against "scam artists" in general. I am just amazed at the amount of "hoopla" surrounding these wires and have to wonder why. I tried them and found them lacking in two of my systems that...
Legacy Audio Stuff
Contrary to popular belief, the build quality of Legacy speakers is not that good. My father has a pair that i've had to make repairs to before. While doing this, i've found several other problems with them. The internal wiring scheme is GOOFY at ...
How Good are the Analysis Plus speaker c
I'm in the same boat as you are Carl. I didn't have much luck with it here. One point that i would like to mention though is that, according to the Goertz literature, it too can reproduce a square wave. The difference in their literature is that G...
