Using battery power to go off the City's power grid
Right. Same concept as the PS Audio PP since it generates a 120v/60HZ pure sine wave from its inverter - except mine is coming off a battery.
Thinking of taking the plunge.
A good way to get your feet wet with streaming is with a Bluesound Node 2i. Available for $400 or less used. HI-Res DAC built-in, uses NAD BluOS (which is stable streaming software) and it’s easy to use. You can obviously get a better DAC and/or S...
Avoiding Scammers - Both As Buyer & Seller
That is why checking their feedback is so important. And don't just look at the number - actually READ the feedback and the date it was given. Also, if the item is "expensive" to you then get their telephone number and give them a call. You can le...
Recommended USB Cables.
@soix - Sorry, but I'm going to hold off on further commenting on the Muon system out of respect for Rich and jumping the gun before it officially launches. I will say it cost me more than the EVO system. He will be updating his website soon.
Recommended USB Cables.
I've been talking to Rich at Network Acoustics the last few days. They are coming out with a new filter, streaming cable and USB called Muon. I went ahead and ordered it. I'll report back.
New streamer or dac?
I would upgrade your DAC first, then the USB cable from the streamer to the DAC, after that the ethernet cable to the streamer and, finally, the streamer. The past couple years I've been messing around with my digital front-end and, in hindsight, ...
Ethernet cable recommendations
JCAT or Network Acoustics are excellent choices in that price range. Supra 8 is the budget choice but is not on the same level sonically as the other two. (I've owned all these cables and many others)
The "Snake Oil" Trope
sns - "There is no argument really, we're all subjectivists and to say otherwise is a falsehood. No machine or robots can stand in for us and present us with some objective set of data to negate human subjectivity..." Yep, thats the bottom-line. I...
The "Snake Oil" Trope
Music is subjective. Sound is objective. We can measure sound but not music.
Electromagnetic fields. Be forewarned, this involves science...
Thanks perki thats an excellent video. Even though the video is 10 years old it makes clear quantum physics, superconductors and electron manipulation are where the current science is. Electro-magnetics have been studied for literally a 100 years....
TEKTON IMPACT MONITORS
jayctoy - I think you know I've owned the Impact Monitors. In fact, Bill upgraded the crossover and wiring for me. They were excellent but before you spend money on upgrades I'd suggest you replace the blown tweeters yourself, sell them and move u...
GaN based amplifier made in the USA from Class-D Audio USA
Thanks George. I've been wanting to try a GaN amp out. This little amp certainly has a good price point and feature set.
Hi end audio equip sounds better today than in decades past due to tech - T/F
50 - 70 years ago we used tubes, turntables, high-efficiency speakers and vinyl recorded through tubes and discrete electronics - in other words complete analog systems. Today, we use digital through out our systems and media. In my opinion, digit...
Holographic Soundstage ?
@mikekollar - "Go on to ebay and spend the $150 to $200 on a vintage 1980's Carver C9 Sonic hologram generator and introduce THAT into your system. My 20k 2 channel system loves it and I consider this the most important piece on my rack."Yep, comp...
Synergistic Research FEQ or Atmosphere
I use the original Atmosphere and a FEQ X4 in my system. They are Schumann Resonance generators that use different lengths of antennas. They are much different from the Acoustic Revive units or the Acoustic Revive cheap knock-offs you can get off ...
