Piano and Trumpet can sound bright
Yeah, it's the interconnects. Go to PBJ and dump the Silverstreak and KCAG.
Amps for MBL 111
If you have a modest budget the Parasound JC-1s, or even the A21 should be a good match. I have never driven MBLs but the Parasounds drive the tough Infinity ribbons without any effort.
worse entertainer or performer of all time??
Sorry, but Kenny G's "Classics in the key of G" is a pretty good record and definitively audiophile quality. It's not the usual Kenny G stuff.
Christmas Music and Audiophiles?
My two favorites of the last few years are Diana Krall's and Jethro Tull's Christmas albums. Both very good and very listenable.

Good picks. Even in the Quietest Moments is also good if you don't have it already.
Mini Maggie System hurts to listen to
I'm thinking its the Peachtree. Can you try a high power rig just as a test?
Cryogenic treatment of an LP?
If I cryo treat a glass of water, does it taste better? Is it heavier? Clearer? I'm just saying if you heat treat carbon steel, it gets harder. If you heat treat, wood, it's called burnt-up wood. There is no universal process that makes everything...
Strange Klipsch thing
"Dan_ed; Reflected sound. So what you guys are saying is that depth is a coloration.I think I am to some extent. Maybe the better word is presentation rather than coloration. To be honest about it, any rear firing driver is there to create (not re...
What are you 'TRULY' Looking for in Loudspeaker...
A large 3D image, with full extension from top to bottom. Maggies don't quite do it but they are damn close to what I want. I'm thinking of moving up the line.
Do you understand the words to the Mus U listen to
"She's got the Mercedes bends." You have to read the lyrics or you'll miss lots of good writing.
Cryogenic treatment of an LP?
I have trouble with the concept of a single process that improves all known materials. Isn't it equally possible that it can harm some material properties. If it's not changing materials in a quantifiable way why are we doing it?
Strange Klipsch thing
Your experience is the same as mine but on the other hand my Maggies fire half of their energy to the back wall. Is that re-creating image depth or just creating one? I like both presentations but some music sounds better on one speaker than the o...
electrostats vs ribbon drivers
Making broad generalities in audio usually leads to eating large amounts of crow. There are good and bad versions of just about every loudspeaker design. (is that a generality?)
W4S ST-1000, How Loud Should It Play?
I'm thinking you are not able to drive them to full power. It's a common problem with ICE amps. Call W4S and see what they say.
