Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Wyred,I haven't decided yet. I just recently auditioned the Luxman SQ-N10 tube integrated amp. Only 10W per channel at 8 ohms but has plenty of power thru my 87db, 8 ohm speakers. A very nice amp for the price but didn't WOW me enough to settle on...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Wyred,I don't know. I haven't looked at the footers. Also, by the way, I haven't made a decision on which integrated to keep. Still auditioning. The Class A Luxman 550AX is a fine sounding amp and my second ever experience with a Class A amp in my...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Wyred,I still own the Modwright but am listening to a used McIntosh MA6300 Integrated at the moment. Also, I will be auditioning a Luxman 550AX next week. I have not settled on the Integrated I want to keep. I hope to make a decision soon but I wa...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Taylor514,About 140 hours at this point. Not much more change from the 100 hr. level. It is a very natural sounding amp. I really like it.
Luxman vs. Accuphase
Hgeifman: I decided on a Modwright KWI-200 integrated amp for $5000.00 brand new. I paired it with an Ayre C-5XEmp which is used with low mileage. The Modwright has a little over 100 hours on it so my true evaluation remains to be heard. So far I'...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Digsmithd,Yes, I do like the Ayre. I've only had it since Thursday so limited listening. I haven't tried any Hi-Rez discs yet but CD listening sounds a little more refined than the Opus 21 player. Clearly more dynamic.
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
I received my Kwi-200 (brand new) about a week ago and it has close to 100 hours of burn-in. Initial thoughts were similar to Teajay: Grainless texture and warmth, tube like. More thoughts to come, but first... The Kwi-200 is being compared to my ...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Digsmithd,Thanks for your posts. My unit will be arriving Friday. I'm looking forward to hooking it up then burning it in.
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Jriggy,I let the modded BDP-83 break in over 300-400 hours. Perhaps "soft" is not the right word. "Laid back" or "relaxed" might be a better description which is good or great for some. I'm trying to find that middle ground where the sound is not ...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
Mcondon,I previously owned a Modwright Tube modded Oppo BDP-83 blu-ray player. I tried to like it but just couldn't connect. I found it to be a little too soft & uninvolving. I'm not totally sure but I just may be a SS guy. I was considering a...
Luxman vs. Accuphase
Thank you everyone for your responses. I read some similar threads and Accuphase seems to be the most favored although Luxman should be shown no disrespect. I got a quote on a new Accuphase e-360 for 10 grand. Whew, I certainly can't afford a new ...
Resolution Audio Opus 21 s80 Integrated Amp
Brawny,I read an article which tested the Yamaha and rated it's actual output at over 100w @ 8 ohms. You are correct, it's not that much difference in actual loudness compared to the s80, maybe 1db more but what I'm hearing just may be the simple ...
Resolution Audio Opus 21 s80 Integrated Amp
I received the Yamaha A-S2000 integrated. I've been breaking it in the last 2 days. Sounds great out of the box. It is a Class A/B amp and it does provide more punch & dynamics which make it sound stronger than the Class D amp.I will be compar...
Resolution Audio Opus 21 s80 Integrated Amp
Thanks Cellorover! I have considered the speaker cable and it may be a synergy thing. I just ordered a Yamaha A-S2000 integrated amp which is class A/B. I'm very curious with the pairing of the Opus21 CD player and class A/B amp with more power th...
Resolution Audio Opus 21 s80 Integrated Amp
Bshapperd,Which Simaudio model were you using? I once owned a Simaudio i-1 integrated which was paired with the Simaudio CD-1 CD player. I didn't own the Opus21 at that time. Clearly, the Opus21 system is much more musical than the Simaudio combo.
