good vintage tuner
Onkyo T-9 or late 70s early 80s Yamahas were very detailed and created soundstage with all discrete componentry and very good power supplyies.
Tired of My Thiel's!!! UPGRADE TIME???
The Thiels are very nice. Try replacing the Tara Labs. Nice cable, but maybe surpassed by the Goertz or Analysis Plus.
Audiophile portable CD an oxymoron?

Best Integrated amp 'around' $1000???
While I've heard almost every piece mentioned above and agree they are all credible choices, would you believe a 20 year old Luxman L 450 will cleanly take them all out? Believe it. That vintage of Luxman was simply unmatched. Just a thought if yo...
Best speakers for near-field listening?
The venerable Rogers LS3/5A would be very difficult to beat in this application. Afterall, was it not designed to operate within the confines of a BBC broadcasting van? Buy really solid 4 point stands, spikes on bottom and use Navcom tile on top t...

Great Acoustic Guitar Recordings
Martin Taylor, Russell Malone, Pierre Bensusan and Tuck Andress. Good luck.
What is the weakest link in my C system
Simple Watson; Pull the electrolytics from the Super Zeros crossover, replace with high quality metallized polyproplenes, replace wire internally with better quality Kimber or something. Imaging, detail and dynamics will improve dramatically for a...
Speakers: all-time worst
ESS Heil had tweeters which could take your head off cleanly but were marketed as detailed.
