Am I broken? Am I stuck? Do I have to return my audiophile card now?
So, here’s the deal ... you need to determine the point of diminishing returns. Are the Sashas THAT MUCH BETTER than the Sabrinas? What’s the percentage of improvement? If it’s a wide margin, then I say to go for it because tomorrow is not guarant...
Mazzy loves Little Feat!
At my advanced age, I have just gotten into Little Feat. I always liked Waiting for Columbus, but never got around to listening to their other stuff. Just received the Original Album Classics box set of their first five albums. Holy smokes! Really...
Amps for Joseph Audio Pulsar 2 Graphene's?
I’ve got the Pulsars (non-graphene), and use a BAT VK-33 pre-amp and a BAT VK-235se power amp. Great sound. Whatever amp you get, make sure it’s at least 60 wpc as that’s what Jeff Joseph recommends.
Tube amp recommendations to drive Joseph Audio speakers
FYI, Jeff Joseph recommends using an amp of at least 60 wpc for the Pulsars.
Surge Protectors
@erik_squires Please explain why you no longer recommend Zero Surge, Brickwall, etc., as a good choice. I’ve been using a Brickwall 8 outlet audio model for years, in addition to a whole house surge protector, and have never had an issue. I am a ...
Balanced Audio Technology (Bat) Vk33se
I bought the VK-33 (not the SE) because I wanted to tube roll. I have it paired with a BAT VK-225se power amp. This combo sounds astounding, and I never cease to be amazed at how good BAT gear sounds. Built like a tank, too.

Speaker Cable Recommendations - Under 2k
I had used Cardas Golden Reference for a long time with good results, mostly with B&Ws. When I changed speakers to Joseph Audio Pulsars, the GR suddenly exhibited bass bloat and the top end sounded veiled. So, after doing some research, I got ...
Any Experience with Audio Envy SP12?
@rodge827 I've now had them for a little over two weeks. They keep sounding better and better. In particular, I am very impressed with the width and depth of the soundstage, and the overall clarity of sound from top to bottom. I'm using the SP12s ...
How do you stop house guest from damaging your speakers?
None of the folks I know are audiophiles, and they have no clue regarding a hi-end system. They’re content with listening to mp3s. So, I don’t even let them into my listening room, and I like it that way.
Is R.E.M. underrated by new music nerds?
As a drummer myself, I can say that Bill Berry was not proficient technically, but he had a perfect "feel" for the music. He played for the tune, and his frenetic playing formed an essential part of the band's musical appeal.
Any Experience with Audio Envy SP12?
I received mine a few days ago. My initial impressions are: 1. The top end is crystal clear, with a lot of air surrounding instruments. 2. Soundstaging is three dimensional, front to back. In particular, I can hear the resonance of the recording...
Problem with Cardas CPBP Binding Post
Emailed Jeff Joseph. He replied today (a Sunday) and said that I just had to remove the bottom of the speaker cabinet to gain access to the Allen bolt on the binding post. Quick fix. Big shout out to Jeff Joseph for taking such great care of a cus...

Joseph Audio: Perspectives and Pearls
@thr1961 I have spoken to Jeff Joseph about biwiring as I have a pair of Pulsars (v1). Jeff said that he really hears no difference with biwiring, and suggested using regular cables with a quality set of jumpers (he seems to like Cardas).
