VPI Super Platter
Mark,It was one of the MK4 upgrades, maybe the first, for the HW19. The Mk4 used whatever TNT platter was in use at the time and then later, the all acrylic black platter from the Aires Black Knight. The lead/delrin platter is 1 1/2 inches thick, ...
VPI Super Platter
I have tried several different platters on my TNT. I have found that with my TNT, the original delrin/lead platter sounds much better to me than either the thick all acrylic or acrylic/stainless steel platters. Although the steel platters weigh mo...

How can it be Christmas without playing the Bing Crosby's White Christmas?!!

Jolida 100 level 2 mod?
I have the JD 100 with the level 2 mod from PartsConnexion. I got it with the level one mod and sent it in for a level 2 mod and clock upgrade. I can say it does sound cleaner with the level 2 mod. More important are the tubes you use. I have NOS ...
What make a TNT "Hot Rod" Different
As I understand it, the Hot Rod has the tonearm mounted directly to a one piece plinth, rather than using a separate armboard. I don't think there are any differences in the platter.

Living Stereo sound bad?
IMO, the classical shaded dog living stereos and other labels made in the late 50's have a mid to rear of the hall perspective. Many later recordings were more front row or even conductor's podium perspective, more "in your face". Some prefer one ...
The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones
I think the Beatles broke more new ground in music than the Stones. Therefore, if one had to go away, I would pick the Stones.
Eminent Technology ET-2.5
Yes, I posted a wanted ad here on Audiogon and on AA. Is there anywhere else I should post one? Thanks
Eminent Technology ET-2.5
Sorry, yes the the tonearm. Should have made that clearer. I see quite a few regular ET-2 tonearms around, but not the ET-2.5 which has the larger diameter bearing and spindle. Saw one here on A-Gon a few months back but someone was faster with th...
Does anyone remember Ohm I speakers?
Blueranger,The Odyssey Extreme Mono Amps I use are said to push 300-350 watts into 8 ohms, much more into 4 ohms (the I's are 4 ohm speakers). More important is they push in excess of 150 amps of current through the speakers, which is where the co...
Does anyone remember Ohm I speakers?
I still use Ohm I speakers for my audio system. I also have a pair of Ohm Walsh 5 Mk2 speakers that I use in my HT system with an Ohm Walsh center channel and Ohm Sats for the rear. I purchased the Model I speakers new in 1980 and upgraded them in...
