MY REVIEW: Merlin TSM MMM BME
Hard to know which is most annoying; the over the top, gushing review or the vitriolic piling on that it has inspired.
Shocking 3D sound in 2 channel
Only once in my Audiophile life have I experienced this phenomenon with such striking clarity. This was at an audio store in Dallas back in the late 80s. The speakers were Dalquist DQ12. The amp and preamp were Adcom. Not sure of the CD player. Th...
2 questions concerning Gallo Stradas
My guess is the Stradas or any other speaker for that matter will sound EXACTLY like the speakers on your computer...

Positive or negative impact?
Arcam partial buyback
So, how reliable are Arcam AVRs now? I have been considering the AVR 360. BTW, I do not have an older Arcam AVR to trade in. They seem to be priced a little high compared to equivalently equipped receivers of other brands. I would be inclined to p...
Dynaudio burn in time and how you do it...
Just play the speakers and listen to them as they break-in. See if you can detect how/if they change over time. Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
Audio Research Amp Shootout
I don't think you have a copyright on the definition of the term "shootout". I have often wished that I could conduct a side by side listening comparison of all the amps he included. Regardless of price, as an ARC owner and fan these are all amps ...
Audio Research Amp Shootout
First of all, there is "no problem" at all with your amp shootout. For ARC fans this is exactly the kind of comparisons we are interested in. I own a 100.2 and have been curious about the other models (tubed and SS) that have come along in the ARC...
Good budget sub for music?
I agree with the poster who said that your request is an Oxymoron. The qualities of a good sub that makes it capable of integrating seamlessly into a music only system are qualities that do not come cheaply. Adding a sub and intergrating a sub are...

VANDERSTEEN.............Question Mark
Is KEF no longer relevant?
The KEF 201-2 reference series standmount speaker recently received a pretty positive review in Stereophile last month. No KEF speaker had really been on my radar screen until I read this review. I would like to hear them. Anyone else heard them? ...
Spectron Musician III SE Mk.2? What Changed?
"I have no question that Spectron can handle the technical issues involved."I agree completely. Virtually all comments from individuals who have dealt directly with Spectron are very positive. Quirky and puzzling forum posts do not equate to poor ...
Spectron Musician III SE Mk.2? What Changed?
I am chilled. I think you are addressing your "chill out" comments to the wrong audience. I really don't think anyone who has commented in this thread is upset, losing any sleep, or least of all not enjoying music because of anything that was said...
Spectron Musician III SE Mk.2? What Changed?
As I stated in an earlier post, this one time flippant response appears to have been an aberration. We all occasionally respond to online questions or issues somewhat impulsively. Upon reflection we wish we had said things a little differently. Fa...
Spectron Musician III SE Mk.2? What Changed?
"Simon is both an engineer and audiophile, so that makes his position a bit unique among the regular Audiogon forum participators :)"Really? Don't you think it's likely that other designers of high-end electronics are cut from the same "engineer a...
