| pairing 4 ohm speakers with 8 ohm speakers I did it like your first example. I was told this is series. The parallel may sound better but puts more strain on the receiver. I wanted to get away from that for the fact I was running rears. | |

| Which receiver would be the best choice? Thanks for all your input. I've looked at some new stuff and the Yamaha R-S500 and the Harmon Kardon HK 3490 look good. Which do you think is better of the 2 and would it be a better choice over the vintage stuff? | |
