Are all of these NOS tube inventories real? How have we not consumed them already?
You really just have to do your homework with vintage valves or NOS. You need to know what labels, plates, and getter constructions look like, and be able to look up valid date codes. The vacuum tube industry was just as incestuous and precarious ...
BlueSound Stinks(!), anyone?
Sorry to hear about your issues, frustrating I’m sure. Now we have had a Bluesound Node 2i just on WiFi, plugged into a Luxman receiver in our great room for about a year now. Everyone in our home shares it, except the cat, and it works just fine....

If you could, what live performances would you enjoy re-living?

Lyra owners!

A Nakamichi ZX-7 just completely gone through by Willy Hermann is in play in my listening/living room. Listening to a live Springsteen concert that I was actually at, but someone else recorded with a Sony Pro recorder, captured the entire concert ...

If you have loved what you have, why open a can of worms? Why not possibly have the panels refurbished/updated and/or try a different power amp and continue a path that satisfies and you understand? Some in this hobby really enjoy fiddling and tas...
Downside to "revealing" system?
I seem to agree with much that has been expressed above toward the idea that beyond subjective tastes, and not to go down the elitist rabbit hole of spending more and more, to (possibly) get incremental improvements. There are two things that ring...

Downside to "revealing" system?
I feel a cartridge or speaker(s) in particular can often create a too analytical presentation (not to be confused with highly detailed and resolving) but including a cart that focuses on record surface noise, pops and clicks is definitely not for ...

folkfreak1,306 posts11-30-2017 1:23pmThe coil impedance for the Miyajima Zero Mono is 6 ohms and the recommended loading is 200 to 300 ohms, I prefer mine at 300 ohms rather than 200 but your tastes may differ. The Zero can be a bear fro hum so ...
Curious How These Nordost Speaker Cables Do What They Do
Of all the conversations about conductors and signal path “science” what I see very little comment on is one of Nordost’s most prominent physical characteristics. This differentiates it from most other brands, and with the Norse 2 and up lines is ...
