I agree with Cdwallace3...."If your center channel isn't improving the quality of your soundstage, you're system isn't set up correctly."I'll just add that I have been fooled many times into thinking I was watching a movie in Dolby Movie IIx mode ...
Is Krell onto something?
Peurto, The center's importance, I should have emphasized (but this is the home theater section!), is, in my opinion, most obvious for movies (DVD and BluRay), especially with discrete multi-channel sources, and it also contributes positively for ...
VPI to Symphonic Line
Yes, they should be shielded, such as the Kimber KS-1016, because otherwise they are unshielded, and naked. And, you are right, the Cardas golden 5, do NOT age well. It's all that oxygen.
Best U.S.A. speakers?
OK, why not weigh in on this one...VMPS!Certainly, where value matters, and it does for most of us.My RM2s are a thing of beauty, especially in the midrange, the treble following in close second. But, alas, I have not heard most of the above...and...

Two Revel Centers Redux?
Greywof00, Please let me know what is your experience. I'm convinced that, compared to a lot of the other stuff people spend money and time on, this is important.Movie theaters get rock solid, in the middle effect by placing the speakers behind th...
What to do, what to do.. oh God, what to do?
Sealed or not is irrelevant. Room acoustics are. Get a sub with an equalizer, then you can match it to you room.
Does power conditioning really matter?
It does matter to every objective person out there once blind listening tests verify what engineers are skeptical l(strongly) about : that a difference can be heard.Speakers, yes! Cables, power supplies...not verified scientifically. Hey, faith st...
Two Revel m20s as center: good idea?
Thanks, Kal, for the input. I like the idea of one above and below, IF i can just figure out how to place the speaker above a plasma monitor 3 feet from the wall behind...As for the interaction problem (phase cancelation(, couldn't the same proble...
