Did I make a mistake buying Krell?
Keep in mind, I never said Klipsch & Krell would not make a good match, Krell themselves made that statement to me over the phone. Call Krell yourself and see. But it was the KSA series I was inquiring about, not the new Krell amps. I would no...
Did I make a mistake buying Krell?
I have always wanted to try Krell but called Krell and they said it would be the kiss of death to use with my horn loaded speakers, not a good match!
Threshold/ What is the Stasis topolgy?
Ferrari thankyou for your recent post on this slightly older thread. The info you provided will no doubt help other interested parties as well. Also Benie thanks for your reference to the above mentioned thread, very helpful.
Why do I get a poping sound??
I use a new Sony ES receiver for surround sound only (separate from my two channel setup) and get the same popping noise when selecting different sources, it is business as usual.
Less fatiquing
I was told the thicker the interconnects the more bass and the less high frequency information will pass through as I have personally found this to be true, could be a solution. I don't like shrill but if it is refined, maybe just a bit extended o...
from solid state to tube
There was an article in Stereophile magazine not too far back and the reviewer in question was astonished at the resurgence of interest in tube gear, stating that the solid state gear of today is far superior. My personal opinion is that if your s...
Problems with shipping to Canada
I have shipped to Canada several times in the past without any problems at all. I was under the impression that if the Canadian buyer refuses to pay the duty taxes he could not take possesion of the shipment. Canadians here on Audiogon are friends...
Downsized and still happy, can it happen?
Dlwask your reluctance is duly noted as you know where I've been. Could find yourself posting on a thread: "Any Regrets" but there are some very good integrated amps out there like for example the Portal Panache which sells for $1,295.00. If I wer...
Downsized and still happy, can it happen?
I considered an integrated amp at one time & have noticed that some seasoned audiophiles that have reached the end of the road, do this as a final solution to the madness that comes with this hobby. I personally feel that a integrated amp rest...
Back into analog
Hi Satch, you know the best way to avoid problems is to never quit anything. I have at least 1,000 record albums because it would be difficult if not impossible to replace all that music with CDs. However I still enjoy both digital & analog. M...
Whose sorry now? Sellers remorse from selling amp.
Really miss my Mac amp with its big blue lights & autoformers. Purchased it brand new in 2004 at Magnolia HiFi and sold at loss. I want it back!
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
Hi Dgplo, yes i knew you were being sarcastic but so was I with my post.
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
Dgplo, yes you can find your power cord on the merry-go-round. Congradulations on your accomplishments
Why does my system sound better??
I think the answer here might be that after components are on for a while, the circuits stabilize, they reach their optimum operating temperature & the sound will usually change for the better, could be for the worse. It may be you like the so...
Preamps ... no bass or treble control?
I'm aware that if you invest enough money into your gear, the sound quality reaches such a degree that tone controls are an unnecessary circuit that would ultimately degrade the signal, I've been there. It is also true that preamps with tone contr...
