Rogue Audio hard to resell, has it fallen out of favor ?
audioguiy85, yes that might happen but in the event it does you will see me running down the road with a speaker under each arm, balancing an amp and preamp yelling:: "But they're not getting this!" LOL
Rogue Audio hard to resell, has it fallen out of favor ?
I'm not a tube guy but I do own the Rogue Metis tube preamp among other things. Nice thing about It is it mutes its circuit until the tubes (6SN7s) stabilizes. It puts out a massive soundstage, a very transparent device, pushes all the right butto...
Eliminated my preamp with amazing results
Now if you can figure out how to eliminate the power amp you will have it made. But honestly it depends on the associated equipment if you can successfully eliminate the preamp. My take on this that the preamp is generally the most important compo...
Have we lost civility and respect on Audio forums?
Its kinda of hard to maintain that don't worry be happy attitude.when things are going to hell. But just try and keep a stiff upper lip as things will get better, especially here. in time. Now I'm signing off before I get carpet-bombed.
Why isn't better quality used gear being made available?
Emergingsoul, what websites did you conduct your search? Offerup, Ebay, US Audio Mart. I have used Ebay on occasions. On Ebay there was a buyer that asked the question: Does anyone sell anything on this website that actually works I did however b...
Why isn't better quality used gear being made available?
Its secretly being bought up by big corporations and then taken to the scrap yard so that you will eventually have to pay their outrageous.prices for the new stuff. Truthfully, it costs too much money to build the new gear as well as the older ge...
How good is good enough?
mesch, good answer!
How good is good enough?
Here is a true story from the web. A guy has two systems, one cost a million dollars.(the speakers being the most expensive pieces).and the other is a modest system. Groups of people heard both and most everyone liked the sound of the modest syste...

OK, I think someone is picking on us again. Let me end my post with this highly intelligent statement: "Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't."
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ?
micelavigne I agree withemergingsoul that your system is a masterpiece  of thought and effort. It it is a good thing you have only 10 years involved and not 20 years otherwise you might need a bigger room. Folks this all subjective and there are ...
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ?
inna, yes indeed you will have good sound with tube amps but they cannot be left on all the time and thats where I'm coming from. I do have a solid state Conrad Johnson preamp that does an amazing job with the midrange, especially when it is left...
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ?
Its a known fact as soon as you power up tubes, especially in tube amps, they are wearing themselves out.  I don't need that kind of concern atttached to my system. I got more important things to worry about like room conditioning, cabling, speake...
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR?
Do you think the way things are going you will end up selling your high end gear to eat? Time will tell.
Warm vs Revealing—the struggle for balance
We talked about this earlier in the forums. Get yourself an equalizer from Schitt. It inserts between the preamp and amp and adds a nice way to adjust tone without a negative impact on the sound quality. Then you might be able to dispense with oth...
They know we will pay anything they can think of
Only the less fortunate worry about price and I don't mean this in a snobby way. But there are exceptions as some rich audiophiles are not going to allocate that much money to assemble a ridiculously expensive rig knowing it's a poor investment as...
