Radio Paradise has done it again!
I'm a huge fan of Radio Paradise too.... we play their Mellow Mix all the time at our bakery and restaurant. Check out SOMA FM too; lots of esoterica there.
Analog upgrade: Luxman EQ-500 Phono preamp + Hana Umami Red Cartridge + REED 2A Tonearm
I've got an EQ-500 too, and am also saving for the Unami Red. My deck is a Luxman PD-171 with a Jelco 850 arm. Currently it's paired with an Ortofon Cadenza Black and it has really been a thrilling combination. I was happy with it UNTIL I installe...
What is better, analog or digital?
Why. not indulge in both? I would never give up my analog front end. I would never give up the world of streaming with Roon, Tidal, and others.
What phono preamp are you using?
I'm really enjoying my Luxman/Ortofon front end. Turntable is the PD 171a with a Cadenza Black and I love my Luxman EQ-500. The one modification that I did was changing the LED from blue to green. My little trick was applying a tiny bit of transpa...
Technics 1200G phono recommendations
And I'd agree with @waltersalas , I have a Luxman EQ-500 and it's a breathtaking piece of kit. Extremely versatile, quiet, and it just exudes quality in all respects. Mine is paired with an Ortofon Cadenza Black. I don't know why one of the poster...
Nearfield passive speaker recommendations please (ATC SCM11 vs KEF LS50 meta)
Hello,    When I upgraded to some ATC 40's my ATC SCM 19's became my desktop speakers. (Luckily, my desk is kinda big.) For amplification I'm using a versatile Cyrus HD One. I'd like to point out that not only does this set-up sound ravishing with...
to buy or not to buy (ultrasonic record cleaner)
I've got an Audiodesk Systeme PRO and I would never go back. Garage sale or very dirty LP's go through a Spin Clean first. But, it seems like there are more affordable options than the Audiodesk. However, I have to say, with the level of investmen...
Vexing Problem

Vexing Problem
@nonoise , Thank you for the link; I really enjoyed the engaging article. For what it's worth, when I discover music that I love when streaming I'll often seek it out on vinyl. And when we started our bakery/cafe I purchased a license from ASCAP, ...
Roon - 10 Things You Don't Know

Luxman EQ-500
Hello,    I've had one for about a year and am in love with it. Here is one reason why. I had cleaned an old box set of Beethoven Piano Concertos, I don't have it with me to be more specific at the moment, but the 50 year old vinyl was pristine. P...
Name a few albums which helped determine your musical tastes
This post is a joy because it is so packed with great listening ideas. I have several in different eras of my life but most have been listed above. When I was a child, six or seven years old, my parents took me to the movie theater to see Kubrick'...
Hegel h590 or Accuphase e460 with Harbeth 40.3
Hello, having only briefly listened to a Hegel amp, I was impressed. This was at a dealer, paired with some big PMC's. But these two units must be compared by their versatility and appearance too. Any piece of stereo gear that's this expensive sho...
Should I upgrade my phono pre??
@lalitk Hello lalitk,     Well I did upgrade to a Luxman EQ-500 and I've been just thrillingly inspired by it. I just began a project to listen to every side of every classical LP that I have and to then decide what to do with it. (Keep, sell, don...
Low volume listening dynamics
hi all, so at the level of the enthusiasts that have been posting in this engaging thread, a variety of approaches will work beautifully. I love quiet listening on a system that wouldn't seem to lend itself to it: inefficient speakers paired with ...
