DLNA client versus USB DAC ??
It is not entirely clear what you are asking. My guess is that you are asking a questions which like comparing "apples and oranges" about two things that are not the same. You might like to get more informations here:http://www.dlna.org/digital_li...
Totem Model 1 Signature vs The One
I have Totem The One's on the end of a SuperNait. FWIW, I am very pleased. I have not heard the Model 1's in my system so I can't help you with the comparison
Solid state amp for Totem Model 1`s
I have a Naim Supernait for my Totem The Ones. Lovely. 80 watts. It is not just the quantity of watts, it is the quality. Naim supplies watts that are high current. I believe Totems use Naim amplifiers in their factory to test quality control, FWIW.
Digital Rights Management and iTunes
Why not use something like dBpoweramp which can convert files from ALAC (Apple "lossless" format)to FLAC? Check out their website: www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

MUSIC SERVER - HOW DO YOU............
That's the thing, there are many different approaches you can take. Each with pros and cons. That is part of the challenge and yet part of the fun. You get to experiment. It is not as overwhelming as it may seem!It is really fun to sit on couch wit...
MUSIC SERVER - HOW DO YOU............
X2Rbstehno has described the approach I use as well! I use toslink directly into my DAC. Sold my CD player 2 years ago. I still have a CD player in my car, but don't use that either! My 160 GB iPod has pretty fair share of my music on it! :-)
The OFFICAL Apple TV thread
Well actually the Apple TV Generation 2 does not have an internal DAC, since the only way to output audio is via a optical out. An optical out must be fed to a DAC if you wish to make music. :-)The first generation Apple TV could output both in op...
What Outlets?
Try some Porter Ports. They are sold thru Audiogon, do a search. Albert has given me great service and the product is awesome!
The OFFICAL Apple TV thread
Both. I first used the mac mini for about a month, on it's own with just iTunes. In my view the mini presents music with a softer more analogue quality than the Apple TV. When I added in Pure Music you get deeper into the music, in other words mor...
The OFFICAL Apple TV thread
I am also a happy Apple TV user. I have both the new and prior versions. I use the Wireworld Supernova 5 toslink which has glass rather than plastic fibres. I now use just the Apple TV V2 into the Naim Supernait which has a built in DAC. About 2 m...
Who's Enjoying the Pure Music App Besides Me??
I have a trial version of Pure Music. I have had for about 4 days. It is staying. It makes enough of a difference that I would not contemplate doing without it! I would not say a HUGE upgrade to iTunes but certainly enough to make it worthwhile ke...
Dynaudio Contour 1.1 vs Totem Model 1
Not sure if you mean The Totem Model-1 Signature or Totem's Limited Edition The One. It can be a little confusing.I currently have Totem's Limited Edition The One and prior to that the Dynaudio Focus 140. I understand that the Focus 140 is a lower...
Bluetooth Music Receivers?
I have had several. My current favorite inexpensive DAC is from Beresford? You can find them here on Audiogon from the manufacturer. They start at around $300 and an upgraded version is $350, which is the one I have. I have not auditioned the Benc...
Bluetooth Music Receivers?
It is amazing, more than once, I have had to explain how things work to the guys in the Apple store. I am sure that in general those guys/gals in the store are more knowledgeable than I am but when it comes to how to use Apple for music and for mu...
