B&W 805 D4: which 5 channel power amp should I go with (home theater): Parasound or Rotel
Those Parasound and Rotel models are going to sound different from each other. Hard to know which would be a better match for what you're looking for. What would you say are your top goals from the sound reproduction of the amplifier?
Room EQ Wizard, Audio Output
You need a DAC that you can connect to the Mac using optical (if your Mac supports it) or USB. And then use that DAC to connect to your system. Without knowing what your other electronics are, maybe the product that supports Roon and Qobuz also ha...
Streamer Comparison and Suggestions
@mitch2 the X1 power supply isn't compatible with the U2 Mini. Something to keep in mind is that bypassing the U2 Mini internal power supply with a third-party linear power supply will void the warranty.
Streamer Comparison and Suggestions
I'll add Lumin U2 as a streamer worth looking at. Their hardware and software quality is exceptional. The U2 can also be paired with an upgraded Lumin X1 power supply.
Room Correction Required
I'm kind of wondering if the nulls you are experiencing are due to height. Do you still get the same results if the microphone is say 6" or 1' above or below but at the same listening position? Personally I think the Trinnov Optimizer is the abso...
Does a DAC like this even exist?
I do not see "lock screen controls" in the roon-settings-setup menu. What does that do if I find it? Maybe he is referring to the per-audio device volume control setting. Under Settings > Audio if you click the gear next to an enabled device...
Does a DAC like this even exist?
I've also never seen a problem where the volume in Roon changes on its own. Is it maybe a bug in the Roon endpoint or an issue with whatever device you're using to access the Roon client software? Especially if it is happening every time.
Ultrasonic cleaning
I recently started using a HumminGuru with distilled water and it has been working great so far.
What next after Lumin T2
@james1911 the T2 may eventually miss out on some features in a firmware update but it isn't old technology in terms of parts or sound quality. If you can get a Lumin T2 at a good price, I would not hesitate to do so versus purchasing a new Lumin ...

Using balanced interconnects may help if there is interference occurring from running cables parallel to each other.
Bryston BDP-3 VS Aesthetix Romulus Eclipse
The main benefit to balanced interconnects is to mitigate / reject noise picked up from the environment. There are lots of good articles going into detail if you do a web search.
I am streaming , how can I play music when provider goes down.
Roon 2.0 requires an active Internet connection at all times to work. And obviously Qobuz does as well. If your Internet connection goes down, use different software to access and play the locally stored music.
LUMIN app question
1. I'm not sure about this one. If the LUMIN U2 Mini is still on (you haven't flipped the power switch on the back) then leaving or closing the LUMIN app should not affect the unit. It will still be on, and stay on, playing music you already queue...
Toslink
The history behind that is that TOSLink transmitters would often have measurably high jitter. But if your streamer does not exhibit that or if your DAC's receiver mitigates jitter then that shouldn't be an issue for you. The other benefit of TOSLi...
Really Long XLR
+1 to what Erik listed. Since you're willing to build your own, order some Belden cable from Raw Cable, and Neutrik connectors from Markertek.
