benjamin britten - "young person's guide to the orchestra & serenade for tenor, horn and strings," on the decca/london label cs 6398, u.k. press. conducted by benjamin britten (c1964), i absolutely love this record. found in the $1 bin at the ...
Where can I get Eldar's re-imagination on Vinyl
it's available on the Sundazed label. shouldn't be too difficult to find. have been considering this one myself. if oscar peterson inspired him, and he's this good at age 21, there's no telling how far he may go.

Music for toddlers and parents?
my 4 y.o. daughter and i enjoy raffi quite a bit. the material is generally well recorded and produced, the songs are just long (or short, depending on your perspective) enough, and (imho) singing silly songs together is a great bonding experience...

Artists 'SELLING OUT' - can we discuss?
i would humbly submit that to purport to know what is in the heart and mind of another in terms of how they choose to apply their art is a flawed premise. not trying to pick a fight. freewill + human nature + democracy = shit happens. sorry it bot...

Artists 'SELLING OUT' - can we discuss?
it used to bother me, but i watched the henry rollins show recently and he had a short segment where he expressed his opinion on the subject. basically he said good for them that they're making some money for their hard work, and it's their choice...
Review: Empire EDR.9 Moving Magnet Cartridge
follow-up to my follow-up (getting a bit lonely here :-) anyway, re-installed the EDR.9 on a more appropriate arm on a different table, and the difference is significant--essentially reinforcing what groovey and raul have reported all along. a few...
Anyone like the new Spocks Beard?
i always liked the evil spock with a goatee
Review: Empire EDR.9 Moving Magnet Cartridge
follow-up to my previous post: i suspect my observations are due to a cartridge/tonearm mis-match. i failed to research the compatibility of this cartridge with my arm prior to impulsively purchasing.
Review: Empire EDR.9 Moving Magnet Cartridge
is anyone else using this cartridge experiencing any upper frequency "hardness" or distortion with dynamic transients? i compulsively re-checked my setup, and it ameliorated the harshness/distortion somewhat. in addition, the sound seems to be mor...
Recommended first turntable?
how about a vintage table as a starter? something like a nice clean Luxman PD-26x, 27x, or 28x direct-drive springs to mind. pop a new grado or AT cartridge on it and you're there. more knowledgable folks could speak to other recommended vintage t...
