Ceiling Panels in a normal room, have you tried them?
I use a 6x4 feet 8 inch thick "cloud" made of Roxul safe n sound placed at the early reflection points on the ceilingThe "cloud" was the last early reflection panel ive put after installing my sidewalls and behind the LP.Its a obvious and wonderfu...
6.5 vs 8 vs 10 woofer
@mozartfan," Its ridiculous listening to a tiny 1.3 inch dome tweeter trying to gather up a full range orchestra in full power."tweeters reproduce harmonics mostly and are used over 2khz. listen to your music, turn a EQ on and highpass your orc...
Speakers The single most critical component
First, I agree 100% with you about the importance of acoustics. its a crucial aspect of sound quality. Id go as far as say that I dont think you can get hi-fi sound without a properly treated room. " For the reflections point coming from front and...

" I have not calculate the exact size where controls of the timing early and late reflections will be more difficult"what do you mean? Do you have early reflection panels (absorption) ? Cause one thing that is very clear in the acoustic world, any...

@ maghister:" And no passive material treatment can do it only by itself in a room under 20 feet....Sorry...""20 feet" do you have any data to back this up? Your throwing numbers out there and imo you exagerate.lets list the top 10 arguably best s...
6.5 vs 8 vs 10 woofer
@MozartfanI was with you in the wideband hi-eff thread, but this 10" theory makes little sense. @auxinput gave you very important information. he's right. even a 15" hi-eff are limited in low bass due to the hi-eff design choice in building a hi-e...
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
" These rooms don’t really have a need for treatment. It’s snake oil, voodoo science. "acoustics is literally physics. how sound waves interact with your room is well understood by now and critical for good sound. True with big operas and theaters...

@mahgisterdo you have links or papers about this active treatment?did you ever compared active vs passive treatment?I mean, 95% of top level studios still use simple passive treatment. when well made, its very good...@ mozartfanas far as im aware,...
Should I decouple my subs too?
yes, decouple subs is very importantsorbothane hemisphere would probably work even better then the overpriced gaia footers
Speakers The single most critical component
yeah, I think OP’s opinion is valid in many ways.Wideband/FR speakers do things in the midrange/treble that no multiways can achieve. The transition and transients with the mid to treble is just unique in character.however, I dislike large format ...

Spendor D9.2 vs. Harbeth super hl5 plus xd + REL Stentor III vs. Spendor Classic 100?
I have seen so many comments from owners of the spendor D series that the treble is not up to the task.Ive heard the spendor D7 and I did find them too bright for me.id go for harbeth 40.2 but do try to demo against spendor sp100 and report back
Seas A26 - Anyone heard them?
I have the Seas A26 and had the Harbeth shl5plus side by side. The Harbeth mids are quite a bit better resolution wise, but the shl5plus treble grated on me, while the A26 is smooth in the treble. the SHL5plus also have more punchy bass and goes lo...

Single driver speakers. Are they worth considering ?
yeswideband drivers are great butsubs are neededa highpass to protect them as welland many like to add a supertweeter for even dispersionso its a 3 way, with xo points around 60hz and 10khz. quite ideal actually. probably the best mid ive ever hea...
