More power for better sound at low volumes?
Mapman, I dont think high efficient speakers will always be better at low volume. I do maybe 75% of my listening at lower volume so I am very tuned into this with my upgrades. First thing I ask the dealers to do is turn down the volume and you usu...
Brandi Carlile
The recording really is very poor in my opinion, and I listen to it far less than I otherwise would. I hope she will do an all acoustic version one day with someone who knows what they are doing.
Wireless router "contamination" of sound?
I had the same thoughts so tried switching off the household wifi while listening. I could not hear any change. My system has become more resolving since then so I might try it again sometime. Agree with the comments on isolating the system from s...
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550
Gamut is more transparent and delicate with great detail. Gryphon is more muscular and powerful, but also a little rounded and perhaps richer. If you want huge bass I would guess Gryphon might do better. Its a question of taste.

Just got a copy of War Brides and it is also great. Thanks again for the Amelia Curran lead.
Catchy tunes that sound great?

More power for better sound at low volumes?
... and i think i have also noticed that low efficiency speakers tend to sound better at higher volumes than high efficiency speakers. I could well be wrong of course. Others here have wider experience than me.
More power for better sound at low volumes?
I have noticed better low volume sound as the efficiency of the speakers goes up.
What makes music so congested?
I saw the biggest impact by far on decongesting music come from moving from an integrated to separate mono block amps. No doubt in my mind.
Who has seen Bon Iver on this new tour?
Am I the only one who does not 'get' Bon Iver? I bought their latest album and tried to like it but eventually got rid of it. I appear to be in the tiny minority.
