Differences between the old AGI 511 and the 511A?
Not that you're probably interested any longer, but I believe the main difference to be the use of discreet transistors in the phono and line stage of the AGI 511A in place of the op-amps used in the phono and line stage of the original 511.
What happened to JW Audio?
Not sure what happened. Was that the "Audio Pimp" with the hilarious ads that used to be on Agon 15-20 years ago?
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
pmboyd, to answer your question. I think you would very much enjoy the improvements made by my V2 modification done to your MPC for your SR Resolution Reference digital cable. It will help to bring out even more air & sustain and create a more...
Monster speaker cables 2.2s
The 2.2 and 2.4's came out around 30 years ago, and were Monster's first really nice sounding so called, audiophile grade loudspeaker cables. They had a network on each end of each cable, and were in part designed by a guy named Damion (who's last...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
The following is a message that I received from Audiogon member (millercarbon) aka Chuck about his thoughts & impressions of my V2 modified SR MPCMichael, Got home last night eager to unpack and have a listen. Running out of quality conditione...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
Yes, an10490413 I am still V2 modifying and repairing all SR MPCs to now of course much better than Galileo MPC status. I realize that SR has moved on from using MPCs, but there are still quite a few owners of SR's previous excellent Tesla, Elemen...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
I just wanted to remind all of you SR active shielding cable owners with non working MPCs, that I also repair them. I can in most cases repair most non functioning MPCs by replacing the thermal cutoff. A small fuse like device that opens should th...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
Many thanks to you all for your thoughts and impressions. I just wanted to mention that I currently have a few of my latest V2 modified SR MPCs in stock ready for audition. Out performs SR Galileo MPC and in some applications SR Transporter SE, bu...

fazee, I am very much looking forward to modifying your stock SR MPCs for your SR Galileo Universal Cell RCA ICs, and your SR CORE SE speaker cables. As member folkfreak may have told you, his stock SR MPCs that I modified for him to my latest V2 ...
Synergistic Research Tungsten IC... any experience
Hi Simon, Thanks for the kind words. I actually ended up purchasing Joey_V's SR Tungsten ICs. With my V2 modified SR MPC on them they are simply outstanding.  You might be interested to know that I have recently been experimenting with a different...
MPC power for Synergistic Research
All the Quattro was, was four SR MPCs hooked together within the unit itself. If you want real improvement you must try my V2 modified SR MPC. It will blow your mind. Much better than even a Galileo MPC in every respect. Just check out the Agon fo...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
I just wanted to share with all of you what I have already shared with a few of my latest customers. I cannot stress enough the value of using a single dc cabled SR MPC (whether modified by me or stock) on each SR actively shielded cable. Each SR ...
Anyone know what these are
Not exactly sure, but they look a lot like the low pass filters from Legacy Audio used for some of their late 80s early 90s loudspeakers. Classic, Focus......etc. Bill from Legacy would just give them to you if you asked, if you had a problem with...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
The modifications done to stock SR MPCs back in 2013 were done to the tiny circuit board within the MPC itself, and as intended produced outstanding results when compared to a stock SR MPC, and even sometimes approached the performance of a SR Gal...
Modding Synergistic Research MPC to Galileo status
Thanks Colin for all the kind words. You should know that Colin is the first that has experienced my latest SR MPC Ver. 2 mod. I have changed the rectifier high speed diodes and the electrolytic cap, and as needed, bypassed it with a .1 or .01uf  ...
