Apogee Diva Ribbon Speakers - I need an amp
Why not get the KAS2 repaired? Alternatively, I hear a Krell KSA-250 works very well with the Diva's.
Use a US sub in Tokyo?
Yes, I have a B&W ASW-850 subwoofer that will work on any worldwide voltage/frequency. I ave used it in the USA on 110V/60Hz and France on 220V/50Hz, no problem at all, just had to change the mains fuse.
Does anyone really need to spend 10k on power
How each of us spends our money is of course nobody else’s business. However, surely the purpose of this forum is to share experiences/knowledge? In this case, can anyone justify spending $10k on a power conditioner? Personally, I have no idea. A...
Oppo BDP-105 Region Free
Zimmerma,Thanks for the clarification, good to hear your positive comments about a region free Oppo BDP-105. If only I could buy a region free player direct from Oppo!!!
Anyone tighten up drivers occasionally
Yes, on my B&W N801/HTM-1/N805/ASW850 HT system. Surprisingly some of the speaker mounting bolts were very loos. I did notice a slight improvement in the sub-woofer bass, not sure about the other speakers though.
Oldest piece of gear you own
33 year old Yamaha NS1000M speakers, still sound and look good to me.
How long do B&W 800 series speakers last
I own a N801/HTM-1/N805/ASW850 system. In the approximate 12 years I have owned this system, only one problem. The spider became unglued from the cone in the ASW850 15" subwoofer speaker after approximately 7 years. Overall, provided these speaker...
Goodbye Sonos, hello ????
I use a MacBook Air and Audirvana Plus via a MF V-Link then Toslink to a Krell HTS 7.1 for D/A decoding. The results, to me ears, playing HD FLAC files are nothing short of amazing. See my previous post on this subject:http://forum.audiogon.com/cg...
Has anyone tried using a Macbook Air?
Yes, this is what I use with Audirvana Plus. Could not be happier with the set-up, see my previous post on this subject.http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ddgtl&1364947210&openmine&zzMgattmch&4&5#Mgattmch
caveat emptor
Thanks for the heads-up Tgyeti. Roxy54 you owe Tgyeti an apology, he/she was simply trying to be helpful. Caveat emptor indeed!Marcus
Pioneer Elite BDP-33FD upgrade crashed my unit
Check the warranty, I believe all Pioneer Elite warranties are at least 2 years, 5 in most cases. For what it’s worth I have a Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD and it has always performed superbly, one of the best Blu-Ray players out there IMHO, not bad on ...
Need advice on how to dip a toe into digital
The simplest system I can think of is iTunes (free) and an AirPort Express ($99) for streaming and D/A. I use iTunes, on an iMac, and an AirPort Express for streaming and Toslink cable from the AirPort Express into a Pioneer Elite receiver to perf...
Any Audirvana Plus enthusiasts out there?
Must be something to do with your setup, my Aurdirvana Plaus playback is absolutely dead quite, definately no clicks.
D&D 's
The July edition of HiFi News has an interesting article on this particular recording. Bottom line, great music badly recorded with a lot of tape hiss. Of all the various versions out there, the MFSL gold CD is probably about as good as it gets
Any Audirvana Plus enthusiasts out there?
Could not agree more with this posting, I to use Audirvana Plus and could not be happier with the sound. See my previous posting on this subject:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?ddgtl&1364947210&openmine&zzMgattmch&4&5#M...
