Bass- at what frequency does it change from sounding like a string to just a low tone?
Thanks, y’all. All this information is quite helpful. My subs are SVBs, So I’m using a low pass filter set at 58 for Atc Speaker’s that go down to 48, measured at six not three drop off. I guess what I’m really after is when subs are operating p...
Denafrips Pontus II Clicks Or Static?
I like NOS better, anyway. If you were to try listening to upsampling, and NOS playing on your Pontus, you might feel the same, in which case the issue is moot.
HiRes lossless FLAC Radio streams
I googled the hell out of this and found all sorts of international stations I would never have found otherwise. You might try that. I limited myself to 44.1 or higher and garnered at least a dozen.
Dual mono integrated amps
I second the musical fidelity a 308 option. If you can find one used, it’s an incredible value, and mine sounds great to my ears.
Why limit yourself to one streaming service?
I appreciate finding out why others approach this differently. I guess that varies a lot.
Why limit yourself to one streaming service?
Hi Jerry, I guess it depends on what genres and how obscure your music choices are. I find lots of things on Deezer, for example, that aren't on Qubuz.
How do you know when your capacitors need replacing on a vintage SS amp?
Thanks, y'all. I didn't think to try Youtube or even Google since i've gotten so much expert help here in the past.
I can’t hear the Difference in the change the low pass filter or the volume on my SVS subs
Thanks, everyone.
I can’t hear the Difference in the change the low pass filter or the volume on my SVS subs
Yes. Line level. 2 SVS SB3000s. I settled on 60hz and 24 for volume, but as I said, I can adjust and don’t notice much difference, so it feels somewhat arbitrary that I have it set where it is.
Compatibility between speakers and sub.
The SVS guideline is 10 Hz above whatever the -3 roll off is. They weren’t able to be helpful around addressing the minus six question. Also, this seems as though it’s a bit of an arbitrary call since I’ve seen conflicting information from sources...
Compatibility between speakers and sub.
OP here. Thank you for all your help. One thing that still confuses me is that my speakers list their low frequency roll off when it is -6 dB instead of the -3 that other people use. That is 48 Hz. Should I guess what the -3 rolloff would be or us...
Compatibility between speakers and sub.
I bought SVS SB 3000 subs and I’m quite happy. I use the preamp out of my musical fidelity amp. Thanks everyone for your help.
-6db vs -3db speaker roll-off for sub crossover calculation?
Thanks, y’all.
-6db vs -3db speaker roll-off for sub crossover calculation?
I know, I know. It sounds weird. Let’s call it post sub calibration trauma syndrome—PSCTS. It renders me insecure without external guidance, at least to start.  Since I posted, I found a frequency drop off chart from a site that has allowed me to...
-6db vs -3db speaker roll-off for sub crossover calculation?
P.S.-- my ears have not been reliable about setting subs in the past, and I currently lack any tech to get objective reality figures..
