Taking the analog plunge...
Thanks all. Your responses are appreciated. The 834 certainly sounds like a no-brainer, especially at it's price point. I'm also really interested in doing some hands-on with a Gyro SE.Dan: I've made the mistake of trading off a bunch of my old 'st...
Taking the analog plunge...
Thanks for the advice Dan. No, the 5i hasn't got the phono stage. I've given thought to the P10 and balk at the idea of spending 3k for one. It's odd that you mention the EAR. My search began with the 834P and I was very encouraged by what I read....
Not much buzz about BAT lately?
BAT does not subscribe to the 'flavor of the month' method of product release and, as such, is currently not a hot topic in the audio press. The 'buzz' in the industry tends to be about the latest rather than the most reliable or truly exceptional...

Power Cords Snake Oil ??
Absolute snake oil. There is nothing in this world short of making it out of platinum that could possibly justify an IEC cable costing $1500 or more. Or any cable, for that matter. If you have money to throw away on such things, hats off to you. A...
The best speaker you ever heard?
Without doubt, a properly positioned pair of Avantgarde Duo's through all BAT upstream electronics. Largely because of their speed, the Duo's reproduce music that seems to just appear in space, as if out of thin air. They are just breathtaking!
Coping in an Age of Uncertainty
Personally, I believe software is of much greater importance than hardware. There is a parallel here that hearkens back to the invasion of the compact disc. There was a period where many end users were hesitant to get on board with the new medium,...
