Basic NAD Vs. Bells/Whistles Marantz Int. Amp
I went with the NAD.  Beautiful sounding little system and a perfect fit for the space it occupies!

Apple vs Amazon
No experience with Amazon’s subscription service yet but am currently using Tidal and Apple.  I prefer Tidal’s SQ significantly over Apple Music but sometimes Tidal is so buggy as to evoke disgust from a pet rock.  I could definitely live with App...
Manufacturers past their heyday
S.A.E., Harmon-Kardon (I guess Harmon lives on as a conglomerate but the celebrated “Citation” line is a relic of the past.),

Dolby Atmos - is it for Audiophiles?
My limited, (non) audition of Apple’s Spatial Audio left me (1) disappointed that the feature would seem to be wholly dependent upon one’s having access to Atmos equipment or a handful of non-audiophile-centric devices (I.e., AirPods, Beats, etc.)...
Novice Tidal Question…
Thanks very much to all!My problem turned out to be in the nature of having too many irons-in-the-fire….The earlier Tidal app on my iPhone was occupied somehow (Still not too proficient with this stuff.) by an old trial account that was abandoned ...
Van Morrison Latest Record Project
I’ll have to give it a 2nd listen.  The first time around really didn’t do it for me.  It wasn’t a bad album…It just wasn’t Van Morrison a la the “Moondance” era.  IMO, that’s the problem a lot of artists run into who’ve created their masterpiece ...

Your favorite audio cartoons
My fave, by C. Rodriquez, depicted a cringing turntable shopper aside a demo model bearing a prominent, “Viscous Damping” ad card as the gratuitously- self-assured young salesman explained, “…and talk about vicious damping!……The damping on that ba...
Apple Dolby Atmos Music - Absolute GAME CHANGER!
I’m definitely wanting to give Apple Music a try with these enhanced features! As for the purist Vs. multi-channel thing, when I was doing the 2 ch. up until the late 90s, I was curious about HT so I had HT going for up until 2019 at which time I ...

Depending on which way the wind is blowing on any given day, it can be “Swayin’ to the Music” by Johnny Rivers or “Thank God and Greyhound She’s Gone” by Roy Clark. Some days this paradigm-of-heartfeltery…https://youtu.be/YfS_7_b7rd4

IMO, it’s worth the $120/yr that the subscription is slated to be for me next year via Best Buy.  This is provided SQ stays the same or better and selection stays very...very...comparable if not identical.I’d like to see high-rez music services be...
Who Uses Rear Surround Speakers For Music Playback?
My take on it is that it’s all good...whatever the listener prefers.  There’s this “as the artist intended” school of thought.  I prefer the “as the listener intends” school.  Sometimes this listener likes “as the artist intended” so I have a fair...
