Diana Krall
@rpeluso. . .you are spot on that your OP was indeed an innocent attempt to share a positive experience you had.  Had you posted a question such as, "What do you think of Diana Krall?" then indeed that's an invitation to debate and opposing point ...
Diana Krall
@rpeluso, thanks for the info on the current show/tour.  Will be seeing her next Sunday in Charlotte and really looking forward to the line up you cited.  Saw her three times in San Diego back in the 90s at an outdoor venue named Humphrey's by the...
Dated but still A rated DACs
If you can find one, Meridian 566 was always a great sounding DAC to my ears.  Meridian has always been at the forefront of the digital domain and build quality is excellent too.  Balanced output if that’s useful.
What’s in your system today that you also had 10 years ago?

Your Thoughts on the BAT VK-3i
@rlb61, you're welcome, and sorry if the reply was a little pedantic--didn't realize you were a fellow owner!  I too have considered replacement from time to time, but never "got there."  And if I did, it would likely be for another BAT tube pre-a...
Your Thoughts on the BAT VK-3i
Well, I’ve owned one since 1998 so I really can’t tell you if it “holds up” to contemporary products because I haven’t compared to any others in my system.  But the fact that I’ve not really been compelled to replace it in 19 years says something ...
Have any of you ever replaced Magnepan 1.7 or 1.6 tweeters?
Hey Tim,If you have the opportunity to photo document your project, I'm sure it will be helpful for others down the line!  Just throwing that out there for consideration.  And since you're pulling the trim and socks, you might even consider if you...
Have any of you ever replaced Magnepan 1.7 or 1.6 tweeters?
I did 1.6s and can’t offer any advice on the 1.7s.  As for “replacing” either driver, thats not even a consideration as the entire panel is a single piece of material.  What constitutes the tweeter is a portion of the panel where the conductive ma...
Have any of you ever replaced Magnepan 1.7 or 1.6 tweeters?
IMO, since the speakers aren't really "functional" in the audiophile sense and since sending to MN isn't worth the expense, you really have little risk of trying to make the diagnosis and then repair on your own.  I have re-socked a pair of 1.6s a...
What music or equipment gifts did you get for Christmas this year?
From my wife, a new VTF gauge and a couple of vinyl-related books.  And from myself, a (used) Parasound JC-3.
