The new OPPO Digital UDP-203 question
In Oppo Setup, select volume control in variable mode not fixed. Oppo has a 24bit (103) or 32bit (105) DAC. So variable digital volume won't affect 44.1k/16bit PCM a lot.
HiFi on mobile device
Iphone SE. In car, I connect Iphone to kenwood Indash Deck. On the road, just earphone. At home, I have patch cable connect to Oppo 105, using oppo media app to browse the music and let Oppo to pull music from Tidal directly. For DSD and FLAC fill...
Audio improvement for OPPO 205
Sonica will have the new DAC. I could guess 205 will get the same chip. I hope the price will stay the same even though this will be a major upgrade.
Audio improvement for OPPO 205
205 will have 4K, new ESS 9038 DAC, better power supply. I am still very happy with my 95 except lack of audio streaming capability.
A CD/SACD player to beat Oppo 105D at similar price range?
It becomes more clear physical media will give up to Hidef audio streaming. And the Hidef music trend is going mobile and more affordable to general public. HiFi music will reside in the cloud server not just in a few of audiophiles listening room.
A CD/SACD player to beat Oppo 105D at similar price range?
Any CD player without audio streaming capability and USB DAC is not worth to buy. An Oppo 105 (D) can do all sort of things in this regard.
Upgrade Path - Preamp or DAC?
DAC is gettiing better and cheaper. Invest in a good analog pre-amp 1st.
Decided to change my cd player, suggestions please?
You need music streaming and USB DAC capability. Oppo 105 (D) or coming 205 would be good choice. I rarely use CD and DVD players now and only use Netflix or Tidal service for video and audio purpose.
Tidal streaming 192.0Khz/24it?
ClassicsOnline streaming mostly 96k/24b. Bit rate 2300kbps. The sound is definitely better than rbcd.
Will audio streaming devices push out computer audio?
On the contrary, the faster advancing digital technology enables computer audio. Physical media will be phased out. Audiophile nowadays are very lucky with streaming media. Like digital camera and film camera, digital audio will be the only surviv...
Tidal streaming 192.0Khz/24it?
With Win7 PC, in order to send  high bit  USB stream, I have to use foobar and download drivers for that articular DAC (such as Oppo and Fiio), Winthin Foobar, have to select WASP. In Apple, it is much intuitive. Oppo Tidal app is so easy for me w...
Tidal streaming 192.0Khz/24it?
Now push classiconline to Oppo 105 and I got 192k/24bit. Plan to try a week. Be honest, I can't tell difference between 44.1khz/16bit and 192khz/24bit. But one thing for sure, the music future is streaming not physical media.
Tidal streaming 192.0Khz/24it?
Trying classicsonline now, 96k/24bit track, on Fiio shows 192k/24bit. I guess my lenovo laptop did the upsampling. For $39/year, classicsonline is definitely a good source for Hifi classic music.
Tidal streaming 192.0Khz/24it?
I played flac file and CD using foobar to  FIIO, it shows 44.1khz/16bit. But when I play Tidal with chrome to FIIO, it shows 192khz/24bit. Don't know why. It definitely sounds better than 44.1khz/16bit. It might sound better than dsd64 in my opinion.
