Klipsch Heresy vs Forte
Enjoyed the video and your dog:-) My brother has an older pair of Heresys and a pair of Chorus which are in between the Forte and Cornwall. So I get to hear them a few times a year. I like them quite a bit.
2 sub hook up
If you daisy chain them together will you still be able to set the onboard equalizers separately from the app?Ask SVS or check their website for info.
As An Experiment I Stuck A Few Things Under My Pre-Amp And Am Now On A Quest
I use platforms and footers under everything. Sand platforms, mdf/foam platforms, IsoAcoustics feet,Primacoustic platforms under speakers and subs.Sorbathane never worked well for me.When I had mono block amps on the floor they rested on  slices o...
Does a particular musician’s songwriting and artistry speak to you above all others?
It's difficult to choose one. What comes to mind immediately is Bruce Colburn, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen.
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system
Sometimes I think that's exactly what I need for less than stellar recordings. Shrieky vocals especially are where I long to adjust. The ability to adjust subwoofer equalization has given me very positive results, so why not tweak the upper mids to...
Can you touch the tubes?
If you don't want to touch the tubes something that works well is a small piece of plastic wrap like Glad cling wrap. You can still get a firm grip on them. I used to do that when I first got into tube gear.If my hands are clean I don't worry about...
Flat copper speaker cables
I used to have a pair of the Goertz copper ribbon cables.I really liked them and wished I'd kept them. A really relaxed and natural sound. The CableComany does carry them.
Are cable “upgrades” just as likely to make your system sound worse?
Everyone that has experimented with cables has likely run across some that are a bad match for their system. I suspect that many "deniers" keep the same cabling and go the opposite route - replacing equipment to match their wire.Which is ok too,ju...
How easily can you distinguish between different DACs?
They don't sound the same to me at all even at approximately the same price range. Right now I'm comparing a Denafrips Pontus ll against a Tubadour lll which are both R2R.Initial impression is the Tubadour is clearer with a cleaner attack. The Den...
Which frequency to adjust if voices/mids give me a headache.
@wrecked I'm sensitive to high frequencies also.If you Google "frequency chart for instruments" several bar graphs will pop up that show where instruments and vocals fall along the frequency range. That should help narrow it down.
Magnepans and dogs
I've got three dogs. One trots into the room and lays in his sweet spot as soon as I turn the tubes on to warm up for a few minutes. He seems to enjoy male vocalists the most, stretches out on his side and chills.Dog number two joins us sometimes if...
Aric Audio and my system
Thank you for posting your experiences. Congratulations on preserving and asking questions until you put together the system that's just right for you. I've owned one of Aric's amps for several years and remain extremely happy with it.
Experience with Modwright products?
Just sold my KWA100SE to TMR a few days ago. Not because I didn't like it, only because I dread swapping it out with the tube amp each summer. It is a very nice, dead quiet, smooth, and powerful beast.Dan is real gentleman. I never needed service b...
Happy Audiophile Day!
Happy listening everyone!
Warm vs Revealing—the struggle for balance
@w123ale as I read your original post I was nodding my head yes.As you already see you definitely aren't alone. I'm at the point myself where I know my room needs a little more help but my overall satisfaction is 90+% with how the music sounds.I d...
