Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
You ever hear a relatively healthy 100CMK4 or 205CMK3 @chakster ?
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
@lewm the actual calibration takes me about an hour all-in these days.  Repairs, done right, are where the cost is.

There's simply no way the calibration survived that.  Barely nudging those pots drastically affects the circuit, and in the drive circuit they all interact.  The mechanically tolerance affects the setting, so aligning witness marks won't work.  Be...

The DP-100M?  Last one I saw with DK-100 went for $10K. How are you going to ship it?  All the proxy services I know of wash their hands of any guarantees in their fine print due to weight and size.

That one is really rough.  You can see all the tell-tale signs of being stored in a very humid environment - corrosion under the finishes, splotchy finish someone shined up, etc.

What do you think of the phonostage in the PS-X9?I haven’t refurbed my unit yet so I havn’t paid much attention to it.  As I use an active DSP crossover I also use DSP for RIAA, so swapping phono stages is a bit more work for me than most.

I paid 4500 EUR two years ago on eBay for mine and 180 EUR shipping from Germany. The packing was superb. I considered 4500 to be on the high side.
Best MM?
I am clearing away my MM collection. Ask for the cart you want.Message me if you've a list :)

JVC TT-101 Won't Stop
Only cable issues I've seen have been due to people soldering the wire wraps, which causes a stress point and leads to very easy breakage. The board headers are delicate to, as pressure on the pins will delaminate the traces.  Have to be very care...

On Lew's unit there was a very long scratch under the solder mask.  In this pic you see the very corner of a crack in the solder filet (center) at the ~8 o-clock position.   If you follow the trajectory you can make out the scratch. http://fidelis...
