@Gavman I settled on and purchased a Boulder 2008. I'm satisfied with the results...excellent unit, I highly recommend it.  I'm  still using the Boulder 2010 linestage. Regards, Jose 
Speaker cabels for dark sounding speakers?
I agree.  See if you can borrow some Nordost Valhalla and have a listen.   If it doesn't work to your satisfaction,  return them...easy.Jose.

Looking for phono preamp suggestions
I second and highly recommend the Boulder 1008 or 2008.I also own a DSA phono.  all the load settings (many options) are located in the front of the unit, and thus changes are easy and near-infinite.The Ypsilon is another great option.Good luck,Jose

@pryso. I'm looking to upgrade.  I'm not sure where to start.I also have a pair of MBL 111F; I enjoy their speed and focus, however,  they lack the mid range magic of the Duntech.I was thinking of auditioning some Rockport  or Magico.Best,Jose

While at this years Florida Audio Expo; I listened to the class "A" Aavik 300 watt amps driving Borresen speakers.  In my opinion; it was one of the better systems/rooms.  I don't have an issue with magazines pushing unobtanium products. best,Jose
