@kijanki Said: I believe that he is simply wrong. Thicker wire has lower inductance. I agree... I can’t help thinking what else he was wrong on. @kijanki, I greatly appreciate you chiming in. Jim

@rfprice $50.00 is not that bad of a price. It’s not like it’s a mass produced item. Sure beats paying $80.00. .

@kijanki, Great post as usual. . kijanki Said: Just one observation. Thicker wire has lower inductance. @kijanki Da,... right you are. I don’t know what I was thinking. I guess my brain turned off when Michael from Essential Sound Product...

A few things the cable designer said that caught my attention. Size of the conductor wire gauge matters. Well ya... How you get there without changing the phase relationship between the voltage and the current. Increase the wire gauge be it soli...
The molecular level explanation of "cable burn-in"
classicrockfan If the wire is live there will be an electric field around it. That’s all that is needed, plus being held by the person checking for AC voltage. The person, being the ground completing a capacitive circuit. How does a Volt Stick w...

@fastfreight Cut the 1-1/2" PVC coupling. (You’ll make three cuts.) (One coupling makes two cups.) First I cut the length of the coupling to 1-1/8". (Use a piece of 1-1/2" PVC pipe to hold the coupling against the fence of the miter saw. (Aroun...

@whart , Thanks for the kind words. . I’m pretty sure I could improve the product if I were to build another one. I mean I only spent about 30 minutes making it. If I built another one I might modify the plug support cup slightly with a heat gun...

The easiest thing would be drill a wall anchor above the outlet and secure with a zip tie but that might not look very neat. @rfprice If you use that method,... I would recommend you use what is could a Plastic Toggler for the wall anchor...
