The New Clearaudio Ovation
Thanks Syntax. I'd like to try a Koetsu but currently I can only support a high output cartridge so I'd have to buy a different phono or step-up which will put me well over my budget. Still considering one however, since I just sold my CDP to help...
The New Clearaudio Ovation
Since I'd also like to try something different, any comments regarding a new cartridge with this table would be most appreciated.
The New Clearaudio Ovation
No I have not. Thanks very much for the tip. Like I said the table was professionally set up but of course that does not necessarily guarantee it was set up correctly. I'll have my dealer check it out.
Cj Premier 11A fuse
Since no one has responded I'll hazard a guess. My Premier 12's use KTK-1 by Limitron. Since the circuits are similar good chance your 11's use the same.
How do I know if seller is selling genuine cables?
I don’t know about BMW’s but when I popped the hood on my Benz today just to be sure, the little guy on the Megaphone (you know just like the Geico commercial) was talking German.
Clearaudio Ovation
I don’t believe that TW Acustic is comparably priced. However, after lusting after the TW Acustic table since I first heard it a couple of years ago, I do believe that for the difference in price the new Ovation is a serious contender and will pro...
Clearaudio " Innovation" - What?
I’m not sure what they have brought to the “table” in years past is as important as what they currently bring with their new line-up. I do know after listening to the new Ovation that the term Innovation they use to describe their new line is, in ...
12AX7 tubes for Music Reference RM-10
I ran the RM10’s in mono block for a few years. I tried several 12 AX7’s during that time. While the stock tubes (EI) are quite good, I found that a good pair of NOS Amperex, to my ears, was a significant improvement. I bought mine from Andy.
Power cord for CJ MF2500A
It’s my understanding that CJ does not install IEC’s on their older equipment because they feel that an aftermarket cord would not be an improvement. At least that was my understanding when I spoke to Ed in tech service and Lew Johnson one day las...
Music Reference RM Mono?
I think that the speaker’s impedance has everything to do with whether 1 or 2 RM10’s are needed. I initially tried 1 RM10 to drive my Totem Mani’s (notoriously difficult load) and then went to a 2nd RM10. The extra 3db headroom was a blessing with...
conrad johnson premier 14 vs conrad johnson pv 14l
I went through the same thing. I had a CT6 and sold it to buy the Premier 16. The Premier 14 is nice but if budget allows the Premier 16 will give you more detail than the 14 and still retain the warm presentation that you are looking for.
Best analog sounding cd player under 5K
CKoffend, sorry to hear about all the problems with your Capitol. I wasn’t really addressing the question to you but I guess it sounded that way. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. It is a great sounding player though. BTW, good analogy with the J...
Best analog sounding cd player under 5K
Where is it written that the AA units are poorly made and breakdown a lot? I've read about problems here on A'gon but certainly no more than other players. And many of the problems have been about the transport, which can hardly be attributable to...
which el 84 amp or integrated
I ran 2 RM10’s in mono block for a couple of years. The EI’s are very good. I found that the Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7’s were sweeter, which I preferred. I also used the Amperex EL84’s, which I preferred over the stock tubes.
Upgrading to Totem Mani 2's
I just answered your email as well but what are you attempting to do? In your email you mention 200v. You can switch from 120v to 220v or back again by changing the wiring "harness" between the inlet and power supply. No soldering involved. Very s...
