Something is not right here.
Are there speakers that disappear regardless of the recording?
The answer is no.
What stereo equipment do respected musicians listen to?
In 1993 while on a company trip we ventured off one day on an exursion in Ocho Rios to Fern Gully area based on the show. The tour bus stopped on the road there and we were allowed a few minutes to walk around. I ventured with a few colleagues on...
Review: Bose 201 Series V
Hail the OP   This is what a true audiophile thinks like.   Incredible insightful review.
What is it I'm failing to grasp?
From OP  Bottom line: I don't find listening to live music "effortless" so I don't understand how a system that renders this activity "effortless" can also be said to be accurate.      I don't get it.....other than volume issues.....   what ac...
What is Tight Bass?
Tight bass relates to timing. When a Bass note is exercised if it reverberates or cant musically keep up with the song its timing is off and it's called not tight... You could add "tunefull" and you bring in timbre and definition as well.
Maggie 1.7i's lack detail. Ideas?
Quit high end audio. Enjoy the music.
No more "High End" for me...Back to Reality Audio

The problem with streaming
Streaming is a must for a true audioohile.
Feel free to talk me off the ledge
Quit with the "best" memtality....... Everything is different....there is no best. If you think you hear things better in another set after a good 45 minute audition then run with that.   The audition should be a minimum 45 minutes
What is it I'm failing to grasp?
He just means his system is non fatiguing as live recordings especially on a system that rips your head off after 45 seconds and puts you in flight mode...etc.  We've heard it before.....   Your being way over the top trying to analyze this one.
Great speaker sounds terrible in my room?
For sure adding the sub is a game changer. And sometimes it takes a walk away from listening and coming back to revisit to satisfy. Enjoy.
Great speaker sounds terrible in my room?
Ahhhh....   2ft off the back wall in your demo.   And you go 8ft more........   Need we say anymore?
