Has anyone compared Ayre K-1xe to ARC Ref 3 or VTL
I have played with those components...ended up with VTL...next would be the K1xe...last would be the Ref...but guess it depends upon which version of the Ref 3 you are playing with...the one I borrowed I think was recent...but not sure....and of c...
Has anyone compared Ayre K-1xe to ARC Ref 3 or VTL
Hi,I recently got a VTL 6.5 (considering the 7.5)...tried the ARC ref 3 and K1xe prior to getting the vtl...there is slight possibility that the forthcoming Ayre KX-R pre amp might be end target...but I do enjoy the detail/musicality of the vtl......
VTL 6.5 vs VTL 7.5
Hi,I am trying the 6.5 now...latest version...might consider the 7.5 mkII...is it worth the difference....I have put some NOS tubes....seem to make a significant difference...clear top RCA...also some GE 6189W mil spec....and some Sylvania tubes.....

Sophia 2 against a wall, with Meridian processor?
Mostly listen to analog...using the stereo mode...though the trifield mode is pretty interesting and rather good....affects different recordings in different manners....but it is very listenable...John

New Ayre MX-4 stereo power amp and new integrated
I agree that ayre cables seem to be a very good match for their equipment...and I am particularly pleased with the new speaker cables for the mono blocks...John
