Odyssey Kismet Reference series.
Just to add my 2 cents worth, I owned them ( Kismet Extremes) for 3 years. They’re very quirky amps. Need to be biased to each speakers sonic signature. Even when this is done there’s no guarantee they’ll perform at their best. Here’s the kicker, ...
OMG, just removed my speaker grills and the sound just opened up to a new level!
Lowtubes, i’ve Been in the hobby for many years and yes removing the grills is quite elementary for any audiophile. My point was to the impact this made to the overall sonic improvements. I’ve owned over 50 hi-end speakers and have probably remove...

Focal Maestro 111 have a tweeter grill that’s magnetically attached. It can be easily removed, but I have serious concerns doing this. It seems so fragile and exposed when it’s removed.

toddnkayaAny decent wife or girlfriend would never be honest enough to allow myself to be fooled into believing they’re actually placing the grills back on when doing this experiment while blindfolded.
Audio Desk Systeme - Vinyl Cleaner – Repair of Water Pump Failure
I’ve had several people I know try to get these units serviced. They’re not serviceable and the only way to recover some of your losses is to reinvest more money into a new one at cost. I wouldn’t touch this product; even the latest version which ...
Can speakers sound worse during break-in period?
To all the naysayers I must say I’m sorry your mind is made up and if it can’t be measured on paper it doesn’t exist. I let my ears tell me what the truth is not a set of numbers that try to explain why it’s impossible to hear something if it can’...
Tekton Double Impacts
Sounds and looks like a good speaker for the money. I’ve not heard this speaker, but based on what I’ve heard from reading this thread it seems to have a cult like following. In real world discussions I’m sure there would be as many detractors as ...
Class D is just Dandy!
Another thought on class D and design. One must also consider longevity of parts used and future serviceability of current digital parts implemented in its design. Here today gone tomorrow world of digital parts and design would make me seriously ...
Can speakers sound worse during break-in period?
Here’s a progress report on my speakers break-in process. I’m happy to report after 100hrs ( XLO burn in disc track 9 ) things have improved. They’re starting to open up, driver integration is better and sounding much fuller. They still need more ...
What country builds the best audio equipment?
Dependable  is tied in with build quality.
Has anyone else auditioned something that really was terrible?
Because it doesn’t work in your system doesn’t mean it’s a terrible product. Maybe something it’s matched with in your system is a terrible match and its performance is severely compromised, but I wouldn’t go around claiming it to be a terrible pr...

There not Vintage one generation back. They’re a pr the company never sold and offered them to a dealer at a special discount.

What country builds the best audio equipment?
Much of what caused to post this thread is the amount equipment I’ve seen from other countries besides the U.S. The sheer amount is astonishing and build quality is always beyond belief; visually at least. I must admit, I’ve not heard most of this...
odyssey kismet monpblock
gochurchgoOverall I can’t tell you what best at its price point, but I can tell you I never felt a “WOW” factor when I owned them. As for other amps similarly priced ( or little higher)  like the pass 150.8 I felt the presence or pure Sonics and a...
