Your First Concert was.....
Mine was also Jimi Hendrix (Winterland), so there must be some older guys around here. Krellman, that was way cool when he Ian Anderson said " now for our second number, Thick as a brick"! Great show. My second was Buffalo Springfield at a college...
Class-D amps - a different re view
I have a question about how long the break in time is for the Spectron Musician 3 is. I am sending my Muscician 2 off for the Hybrid update on Monday. I am really enjoying the Musician 2 in stock form, so I can't wait. Thanks
Class-D amps - a different re view
Class-D has tons of potential. I think the Gilmore Raptor's sound fantastic. I have also heard great things about the Spectron sig. He mentioned price was not an issue, but the more expensive Class-D amps do sound much better.
KCI Pure Gold and the benefits
This cable is the real deal. Mine have around 70 hours on them and I can't hear a thing I don't like. Bass is tuneful and powerful, mids to die for, and not etched or bright in the highs at all, just the music.
What are the best quality speakers for under $500?
In that price range, I would be looking for a nice pair of KEF 104ab's
Would you get ASC Tube Traps or RealTraps
In looking at your system (way cool) it looks like your room could benefit from stopping slap echo as well as bass management. Realtraps are broadband, so while tameing the bass problems, they help even more with calming down a room to allow your e...
Review: Sansui AU-7700 Amplifier
I just checked out your system and noticed you have tried it with a very nice preamp. The Sansui website was a real blast from the past. The 5000a reciever was a mainstay in my system for several years. Great review.
Review: Sansui AU-7700 Amplifier
I have an old U-11000a integrated that looks very close to the picture you posted. From time to time I have used it in my home theater system or my second system. Everytime I listen to it I am always blown away just how nice it sounds. If you get ...
Room modes are hijacking my music
Realtraps.com Check out the data for the Mondotraps.
Diana Krall - New Vinyl - Good sound - Poor Vinyl
It's not rocket science to get a clean groove. Quality control was missing when these were done. If they don't do some kind of recall, I am off to give other lables my money. Classic records has a BIG problem if this is the stuff they plan on sell...
Your Music Server
Mine in a pc, with Windows XP Pro,twin seagate hard drives, powered by a silentmaxx german pc power supply. I use Adobe Audition, a lynx 2 card for burning vinyl.Out the usb with a Empirical Audio Off-Ramp Turbo 2 with battery power supply to a TR...
Dense, powerful sounding TT, decent top $3500 max?
You might want to hear the Michell Orbe SE. It does very well the the arm you have and would allow you some extra money to get a top notch cartridge.
First song to "Blow You Away"...
Only the Lonley (Roy Oberson). It cost be a ton of nickles in a juke box. Man, even then this hobby cost me all my spare change.
Childproof audio
One thing that has really helped me was those Rat Shack I.R. repeaters. Everything I own is tube (with no cages), so I just put all my equipment in a built-in with closing doors, yet I can still use all my remotes. If I am using my music server, I...
What format are most people using, and why?
Hello Herman. Vinyl does sound worse once digitally recorded, but 24/96 seems to be the balance of nice sound without eating up too much hard drive. I don't do any correction,as a matter of fact I run it thru my Supratec Cabernet to boost the gain...
