Magico - a new Mini?
I know they have not been making the Mini for a while as I tried tried to purchase a set from my dealer in October. I am actually surprised to see that the V3 is still listed on the website as they come out with the Q3........although it appears t...
Ceiling tiles using rigid fiberglass
So, you are looking for a whole ceiling of absorption? Or is the goal to "soundproof" the room from the upstairs? I am certainly no expert but I have been messing around with my own diy rigid fiberglass creations for a while and I think that the w...
Accuphase Class A or A/B speaker match Dynaudio C1
I agree with everything said above especially the lower volume issues with these speakers. In a large room I just don't think a smallish amp is gonna cut it. Their impedance when measured was closer to 83 db. It's not a volume issue, anything will...
Accuphase Class A or A/B speaker match Dynaudio C1
What is the class A output? how big is your room? Honestly, I would say no on the class A only unless it is a huge amp. These speakers really do need a lot of power and anyone telling you that they sound great on their 30 watt tube amp has not hea...

New macbook air for computer audio
I am using the hi2tech (??) usb/spdif converter. I do not have a firewire dac and really have no plans of purchasing one as i still like silver disks and will keep my cd player(i think..). Pros of the AIR:small, absolutely noise free (no fans)Cons...

PC audio with S/pdif input only
Yes coaxial input only... I found a USB to spdif converter- hageman? Anyone have any thoughts on that? I would have to run a wire from the laptop but it seems like a decent solution.

McIntosh MC1.2kw
You should read the next review on that tone publications link.... Sim W7M. He does a pretty direct comparison and the price is basically the same. I know which one I'd pick.....
Acoustic Zen Absolute. How good they are?
I had both the valhalla and the az absolutes at the same time. I preferred the az to the valhalla. To me, they were more natural sounding and are much fuller. Resolution wise, I'd go with the Valhalla's. If you have to live with them day to day th...
SC's and IC's for Dynaudio C1 and JR Continuum 500
I cannot comment on synergy between your electronics and the C1's but I have what I believe to be a comparable system in the boulder 865 + Simaudio Andromeda and C1's.......The C1's are extremely revealing speakers as I'm sure you would agree and ...
Boulder 865 integrated with Dynaudio C1?
I've been looking at the Bel Canto DAC3 and CD2 or possibly the MBL 1531 or Cary 306 as a single box solution. I didn't mention before but the other speakers I've heard were the PL100's by monitor audio, Usher tiny dancers and some quad's that I d...
