Best speakers around $130k?
why not consider second hand. Usually at that price level the speakers have been very well maintained, look like new or possibly have a little tiny something somewhere, but are sold at half the price. At this moment several up for sale at audiogon...
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player?
The fact that this discussion is ongoing for such a long time means that actually the outcome it is not so obvious. :)
Anyone with tinnitus or hearing loss who is into "high-end" audio?
Got tinnitus some 5-6 years ago, like someone walking over gravel, fluctuating with my heart beat...up to the level that I had sometimes problems falling asleep...however that never kept me away from enjoying music, in fact I continued to invest a...
Does anyone collect something else other than music.
Money, however I now realize that collecting money and owning high end stereo equipment don't go well together. So I have given up on collecting money... :)
A Top DAC
CH Precision C1.1 with T1 and X1 power supply. You can also go for the mono version of the above set. Best I've ever heard. (admit that I have not heard all of the others)
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
We have reached common ground....cheers.
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
I'm still quite confident that I prefer to listen to my "whatever's left" with a good glass of wine in hand, than to your "high end" and the worries of directionality. Never mind, I'm fine with that too. You continue to enjoy changing fuses, I wil...
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
I don't think it's an argument, as I said, it's a choice.

@geoffkait My approach is that I enjoy the music. The time you spend on frantically searching for the proper directions of your fuses, I will spend with a good glass of wine and some good music. It's a choice to make.
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
@geoffkait Next, you buy fuses and replace your original fuses one at a time - checking each fuse for directionality as you go. 🔜 Then repeat the process to double check each fuse for directionality. That's what I was saying indeed. ;) (well more o...
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Let's say you have 10 fuses in your equipment, now you wish to start tuning, so you change the first fuse, you will buy 3 different choices, so 9 fuses remain original. You will finally select the fuse you like, after that, you will change the dir...
How many amps do you own?
a pre-amp and 2 monoblocks. I thought that's all one needs no ?? That's after careful selecting of course.
Pin point imaging isn't for everyone
Call it pinpoint, realistic sounding  imaging and soundstage or any other fancy name, the bottom line is that when we sit and listen to the music, we want it to sound as natural as possible. Rarely that is the case, due to the many limitations we ...
Equipment Rack Between Speakers...Good or Bad
To diffuse or not to diffuse, that's the question. I have mine between the speakers, however kept below ear height when sitting in the listening position. Build my own table on which the equipment is placed, won't vibrate much either. Table (combi...
What system can adequately reproduce the sounds of a tanker being hit by torpedo ?
I have never heard the Memphisto/Kodo combination. Nevertheless, I do believe it will be impressive. But I also dare to state that that set-up will stay far behind the actual impact of real explosions. (Glad they don't reproduce that kind of sound...
