Another Subwoofer Cable Topic
@carlsbad  I think you misunderstood.  I am not trying to take one bass signal and split it into two. The engineer who makes subwoofers see fit to install a Left and Right RCA input.  Why, if the driver is mono? There is no stereo input into the...
Core Tech USBe Perfect
I just got the USBe Perfect and unfortunately, it doesn't pair well with the Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt. :(  I had to go back to the Jitterbug FMJ to achieve my top sound. I know Audioquest had stated that combining the Jitterbug in series with ...
A Second Noise Floor?
@tksteingraber  Awesome!  Glad to have been of help. :)
Audioquest Angel vs Synergisitic Research Atmosphere Alive
@chazm007  Yeah, do it.  The Shunyata PCs at the Venom level will not remotely exceed Synergistic Foundation PCs. I am actually considering having Synergistic make a custom Foundation PC that uses an IEC C5 (Clover leaf) connection.  I want to i...
A Second Noise Floor?
@tksteingraber  You're creating an array, sort of like an antenna.  I don't think it's 100% necessary to have the bare wire, but a lot of designs I saw had something similar.  Bare copper wire coil is cheap and easy to get :).  I also got some co...
A Second Noise Floor?
@lowrider57  Sure, why not?  It's a MASSIVE banana plug.  I thought about posting a comparison picture.  It's 3 x the size of what you normally see. I plugged in using a banana plug, but it will accept spades.  Those can easily stack. :)
A Second Noise Floor?
@lowrider57  I created a system and added photos I took while I was making it.   https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/10013
DIY Active Ground Box
@lowrider57  I researched industrial grounding backfill material.  I found that the premium blends were just charcoal and salt.  A few had quartz. My understanding is, the mixture needs to have the ability to be semi-conductive as well as mainta...
A Second Noise Floor?
@4krowme  Agreed, each geographical area has a completely different mineral mix.  I had no conception on how each compound impacted sound quality, or even if it does. Technically speaking, the engineering at work here is drawing out excess electr...
A Second Noise Floor?
@lowrider57  I am not sure how.  The pics all have to hosted, I can't just insert or drop them in. :( Any ideas?
DIY Active Ground Box
@fuzztone  The idea isn't about blocking EMI.  It's about safely dissipating all collected or excess electrical signal that enters, propagates or is erroneous. Ok, so the copper plates are simulating the copper grid that is usually created in a ...
A Second Noise Floor?
@oldhvymec  It took me quite some time to figure out what to fill these boxes with. The entire point of Earth grounding is to have a semi-conductive filler that can safely disperse electrical energy. The industrial premium blend tends to be charc...
A Second Noise Floor?
@tksteingraber  I made two boxes, actually.  The first box was made for my custom cable to allow the ground loop spades to bleed off. The 2nd box uses the same design, however, only connects to the power distributor via Banana Plug. The first gro...
Review Shunyata Venom V16 Power Distributor
UPDATE: While exploring a different issue, I discovered something about the Venom V16 that IS NOT advertised by Shunyata and apparently is a fantastic feature.  It has their CGS grounding tech.  The distributor has the copper ground socket just l...
DIY Active Ground Box
I wanted a way to ground the loop spades the cable have. Just letting them sit there dangling, or taping them off or cutting them off was undesirable. I have enough material to make another one.  I think I will try your backfill recipe. :)
